The quest to earn the exotic rocket launcher Truth is now live in Destiny 2, and it is a fairly straightforward quest. Truth is a returning exotic to Destiny 2 from the first game in the series, with its main perks remaining generally unchanged, giving the weapon's rockets aggressive tracking on a target as well as proximity detonation with the Destiny 1 favorite perk, Grenade and Horseshoes.

This quest was not a surprise like some of the game's past exotic quests have been. Players knew to expect this quest, as it was listed on the roadmap for the Season of Opulence, which just recently started. The quest is not particularly difficult but will take players a couple of hours to complete.

Complete the Menagerie

The first step is to play the Menagerie activity, which also got a new ogre boss this week. Nothing special is required here nor do there need to be specific Runes slotted into the Chalice to get the quest item. Player need only to complete one full run of the Menagerie and the final chest will award the item that kicks off the Truth quest called A Scrap of Paper.

Visit Petra Venj and complete an Ascendant Challenge

Players must next go visit Petra Venj in the Dreaming City and complete an Ascendant Challenge (players might also want to pick up the Ascendant Challenge bounty from Petra here to get a Powerful Reward while on this quest). As usual, players will need to use a Tincture of Queensfoil to enter the Ascendant Challenge and complete it. Like the first step, nothing special is required here, and upon completing the Ascendant Challenge the item, A Map Asunder, will drop.

Find the map fragments

Next, players need to find four map fragments in different locations in the game. The first location players should head is to The Bay of Drowned Wishes lost sector in The Dreaming City. Hopefully, players will still have the Ascendant buff from completing the Ascendant Challenge because it is required for the platforms to appear in the middle of the main open area of the lost sector where the map fragment is hidden. If the buff has worn off, activate another Tincture of Queensfoil.

Then head to the Tangled Shore to where the Mindbender boss fight took place in the Jetsam of Saturn area. Walk quite a while through the corridors until coming to a large amount of Hive. Killing the Ogre will drop the next map fragment.

To get the third map fragment, players need to complete a Nightfall. Lastly, go to the Cistern on Nessus. This requires players to be Ascendant, so activate another Tincture of Queensfoil and platforms will appear over the lake of Vex Milk.

Complete the map fragment challenges

Each map fragment has a task required to complete it. Since the last fragment was on Nessus, stay there as one of the map fragment challenges requires players to get 50 rocket launcher kills on Nessus while Ascendant. This speeds up with multi-kills so try to group up enemies and kill them with a rocket launcher. Wardcliff Coil works especially well for this.

Next, go back to the Tangled Shore and get 100 Hive kills. After that, players need to complete three Nightfalls under a handicap of 100 or more and get 60 rocket launcher kills. It is best to throw Heavyweight on with the -100 handicap and complete three Nightfalls, making sure to get at least 20 rocket launcher kills per strike.

Lastly, get a Corsair Down badge in the Dreaming City. Get one by killing Scorn in the Dreaming City and then it will identify where the downed Corsair is. Find the body of the downed Awoken guard and then defeat the boss that spawns. Finally, turn it into one of the Corsairs scattered around the Dreaming City, such as the one that can be found in the Devallian Mists.

Complete the Warden of Nothing Strike

After all that, load up the Warden of Nothing strike from the Director. Along the way, there are small glowing items hidden throughout the strike that look like little holograms of the planet Saturn. Find and activate five of them as a fireteam (activate only five as some players are reporting issues when activating more), then defeat the boss. Activate another Tincture of Queensfoil then jump off the back of the platform where the boss was onto the Ascendant platforms. Head to the right to the chest, which holds Truth.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A Stadia version will launch in November.
