Destiny 2 is no stranger to all manner of funny emotes, from wacky dances all the way to popular Internet memes, such as that of confused John Travolta from Pulp Fiction, or the legendary Darkest Timeline meme from Community. The latest funny emote to be highlighted by the game's community, however, is that of a trombone concert.

The "Second Line" emote allows up to three player Guardians to join in on an impromptu trombone concert whenever they feel like it. Though Destiny 2 didn't include any trombone music to go along with this emote, players seem to find it thrilling all the same, especially when it comes to interacting with one another in the game's central hub, the Tower.

In a display similar to that of the recent bout of in-game LAN parties in the Tower, Destiny 2 players have now taken to joining forces not just to destroy the enemies of humanity, but also to have a little casual fun while they're not out and about doing strikes, patrols, and raids. With support for up to three players at the same time, "Second Line" coordinates Guardians to play trombones in perfect sync, leading to lots of dancing and fireworks. As the video posted on Reddit shows, players were quick to jump at the opportunity to muck around, with the trombone concert soon growing to include six players all at once.

Though Destiny 2's lore can certainly get grim and serious when needed, the game is hardly allergic to hilarity. Not only does Bungie keep producing all sorts of funny emotes both for solo players and for full fireteams, but they often also come up with ways to root players' behavior in established lore. Dancing for no apparent reason, standing on tables, jumping from Tower walls, and failing to grasp the seriousness of the given situation are all commonplace in the universe of Destiny 2.

Of course, Destiny 2's physics engine can also be a source of hilarity in some cases. Whether it's players dying because they accidentally stepped into a puddle of water, or them being thrown around after getting hit by a common Fallen Dreg, the end result never fails to entertain. For players that can't get over the trombone emote, however, and who might not want to spend real-world money on the game's microtransactions, the good news is that the showcased "Second Line" emote will be available as a Bright Dust purchase, starting on January 25th.

The obvious downside to the trombone concert emote in Destiny 2 is that there's no music whatsoever, except for the fireworks sound that goes off every so often. While this is unlikely to change, odds are that the upcoming Witch Queen DLC might have new emotes to check out.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles.
