The Trinity Ghoul is easily one of the best Bows in Destiny 2. This is entirely because of the Trinity Ghoul Catalyst and its amazing perk. Without it, this bow would be the run-of-the-mill weapon for quite some time.

But with the Trinity Ghoul Catalyst it’s a powerhouse capable of clearing waves of enemies with a little prep and often a single shot. The only thing it may struggle with are Arc resistant enemies, but even they’ll go down with enough arrows.

What The Trinity Ghoul Catalyst Does

Destiny 2 Guardian Firing Trinity Ghoul

The Trinity Ghoul Catalyst comes with a startling effective perk called Forked Lightning. Forked Lightning has a single, but important benefit it provides the Bow.

  • The Lightning Rod perk will now trigger whenever an enemy is killed via Arc damage from any source.

This makes it so that instead of triggering Lightning Rod from a Precision kill any enemy killed with Arc will trigger it. This can be from Arc grenades, the Trinity Ghoul, or any weapon that uses Arc damage. The idea is to kill an enemy with Arc damage and then blast a wave of enemies apart with chain-lightning from the next shot using Trinity Ghoul.

Weapon Stats With The Trinity Ghoul Catalyst

  • Impact – 80
  • Accuracy – 86
  • Stability – 55
  • Handling – 58
  • Reload Speed – 55
  • Draw Time – 720
  • Split Electron – fires an arrow that splits when released. Aiming with sights and fully drawing bow both decrease the spread of the split arrows.
  • Lightning Rod – Precision Kills grant the next shot chain-lightning capabilities.

How To Find The Trinity Ghoul Catalyst

Destiny 2 Prime Gambit Armor

The Trinity Ghoul has a chance of being rewarded to the player for completing any of the following activities:

  • Strikes
  • Gambit Rounds
  • Crucible Matches

It’s important to note that the Trinity Ghoul Catalyst will only have a chance of appearing if the player is victorious. Killing several Guardians in Crucible will not cause the Catalyst to drop, winning Crucible is what matters.

The Trinity Ghoul Catalyst can be upgraded by killing 400 enemies using the Trinity Ghoul. Either standard shots or the Lightning Rod chain lighting will count towards the 400 enemies. As a result, chain-lightning damage may be easier.

Some of these kills can also be obtained retroactively. The player can amass a number of kills by using the Trinity Ghoul prior to getting the Trinity Ghoul Catalyst. Some players report that it won’t always count every kill, but some should count towards the 400 needed.
