Destiny 2: Beyond Light, introduced a new way to farm Exotic Armor in the form of Legend and Master Lost Sectors. Guardians who complete these Legends or Master Lost Sectors, solo, will have a chance at getting an Exotic Armor piece. While this is already slightly focused on one of the Armor slots, Helmet, Arms, Chest, or Legs, one Guardian has found a way to turn them into Exotic Engrams and convert them to something other than their original targeted drop.

Destiny 2 player and YouTube Content Creator, SneakyBeaver, has shown off their method of guaranteeing that the Exotic Engram stashed in the Postmaster is targeted to whatever Armor slot a Guardian wishes. The Exotic Engrams from solo Lost Sectors appear to be coded in a way that allows SneakyBeaver’s method to work.

How this method works is pretty straightforward, Guardians can choose whichever Legend or Master Lost Sector they find easiest to farm regardless of the Armor slot that is dropping. If Guardians want the new Titan Exotic Chest Armor, Cuirass of the Falling Star, but their favorite Legend or Master Lost sector is dropping Exotic Arms, they can still farm for the Exotic Chest Armor.

Guardians will want to make sure their Arms slot is full and that their Engrams Inventory is also full. With the high drop rate of Umbral Engrams, this should be easy to do. Guardians will then need to farm the Legend or Master Lost Sector as normal. When the Exotic Arms would normally drop, they will be forced into an Exotic Engram since the Arms Inventory is full. With a full Engram Inventory as well, the Exotic Engram will go to the Postmaster.

From here, Guardians will want to save their Exotic Engrams at their Postmaster. The Exotic Engrams in the Postmaster will read as dropping from the daily Master Lost Sector and decrypt into whatever the Master Lost Sector is dropping that day. If a Guardian wants the new Titan Exotic Chest Armor, they should wait until the Master Lost Sector is dropping Exotic Chest Armor.

Once the Master Lost Sector is dropping the Exotic Chest Armor, Guardians can open their Exotic Engrams in their Postmaster and they should all decrypt into Exotic Chest Armor, matching the daily Master Lost Sector. If Guardians want a different Armor slot, they should wait until that slot is dropping from the Master Lost Sector, then open their Exotic Engrams from the Postmaster.

This method mainly allows Guardians to run their favorite Master or Legend Lost Sector and still stock up engrams for a different Armor slot. Guardians will no longer have to wait for their favorite Legend or Master Lost Sector to drop the Armor they want. It also means that Guardians do not have to farm a Lost Sector they don’t like, just to get the Armor they want.

It should be noted that this method will not guarantee a specific Exotic Armor piece, but rather the Armor type such as Arms. The Exotic Arms that drop would still be random to the character class type. Since this method works around the Legend and Master Lost Sectors, Guardians cannot use this to farm for Exotic Weapons.
