Trials of Osiris, once a beloved game mode from the original Destiny finally made its return to Destiny 2 earlier this year. After an initial surge of interest, the competitive game mode quickly fell on hard times due to issues and waning player interest. Bungie has continued to work on the game mode, eliminate cheaters, and with even more changes planned inside of the Beyond Light update, Trials of Osiris has managed to find its footing. Alongside the Friday reset, Trials of Osiris has again returned to the game bringing with it a new select of rewards for players to chase.

For the weekend of October 23, Destiny 2 players will be battling it out on the Rusted Lands map. While the mode still remains ultra competitive, players have more options inside of the Season of Arrivals than they did when the mode first launched. For example, players can pick up the End Game bounty from Saint-14, which awards progress for simply completing matches, rather than requiring wins. Completing the bounty gives players the 3-win reward for the weekend as well as unlocking the ability to turn in tokens to Saint-14 at the Tower.

Rewards for this weekend appear to be fairly underwhelming to the community even with each item having randomize rolls. Here's what to expect from each win requirement for the weekend of October 23.

  • 3 wins - The Scholar (Kinetic scout rifle)
  • 5 wins - Exile's Curse (Arc Fusion Rifle)
  • 7 wins - Class Item (Cloak of the Exile, Mark of the Exile, Bond of the Exile)
  • Flawless run - Class Leg Armor (Boots of the Exile, Greaves of the Exile, Legs of the Exile)

For those who are unaware, going Flawless in this mode means the fireteam earns seven wins without taking a single loss on their card. Upon the seventh victory, players are taken to The Lighthouse social space on Mercury where a treasure chest is opened containing that weekend's reward as well as additional items. This can includes a special emblem as well as armor glows to light up Trials of Osiris armor. The glow effect is active for the rest of the weekend.

One criticism of Trials of Osiris since it was added back in March is the lack of Adept weapons, special gear that was reserved for Flawless players. Thankfully, Bungie is finally adding Adept weapons back into Destiny 2, though they're going to be a little bit different from how veteran players may remember them. Still earned for finishing a Flawless Trials Passage, Adept weapons will now have increased stat rolls and can only be earned on a bi-weekly basis. However, players can also earn Adept shaders and weapon mods for their troubles as well, giving players something to chance even without a weapon dropping.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light releases November 10, 2020, for PC, PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The PS5 version will be available on November 12.
