The Trials of Osiris have been a weekend tradition in Destiny for years, but the popular Crucible event was just added to Bungie's Destiny 2 earlier this year as part of the Season of the Worthy. While many Trials of Osiris weekends have gone without a hitch since it debuted in Destiny 2, issues have come up since the launch of the Beyond Light expansion that have kept fans of the game from playing the mode.

Previously, Bungie pushed back the Trials of Osiris from its planned return during the Beyond Light expansion launch weekend, setting a new start date for today, November 27. Unfortunately, Bungie has decided to cancel the Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris as soon as it was meant to start, due to a "recently discovered issue." Bungie says that it is looking into the problem and once it's resolved, it will determine when the Trials of Osiris can return. Bungie has not provided a Trials of Osiris return date, but it won't be coming back this weekend.

While Bungie didn't provide a specific reason as to why it decided to cancel Destiny 2's Trials of Osiris this weekend, a bug pointed out by LUCKYY10P could very well be the culprit. In a video uploaded to YouTube, LUCKYY10P showed a bug in Destiny 2's Elimination matches (the match-type used for Trials of Osiris) that made it so enemy players weren't appearing as red blips on the radar as they normally would. In the video, LUCKYY10P doesn't show people how to actually do the bug, but it seems as though enough players are aware of it that Bungie felt like it needed to cancel the Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris this week (assuming this particular bug is in fact the reason why Trials of Osiris was canceled, that is).

While Trials of Osiris being canceled is unfortunate, there should still be plenty for Destiny 2 players to do in the game. It's likely that there are quite a few Destiny 2 enthusiasts who have yet to complete the Deep Stone Crypt Raid, and so Guardians may want to focus on that for now.

Then again, the Deep Stone Crypt Raid has been known to have some issues of its own. An unfortunate bug has prevented Destiny 2 players from getting Deep Stone Crypt Raid rewards with more than one character. This particular bug only applies to a very specific group of Destiny 2 players, those who entered the raid prior to the weekly reset, as well as those who logged in between 9am and 5:35pm PT on November 24.

Bungie is usually pretty quick about removing bugs and exploits from Destiny 2, having just removed the game's latest loot cave in a recent update. So while Destiny 2's Trials of Osiris may not return this weekend, hopefully Crucible fans don't have to wait too much longer to play the popular game mode.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
