One of the complaints many fans have leveled at Destiny 2 is that the game's loot pool is a lot shallower than first realized. Even with the recent appearance of Iron Banner, fans wondered if that was all the game would have to offer for quite some time. Well, according to developer Bungie, more gear is on its way, arriving as a part of Destiny 2's next season.

At a panel during TwitchCon, Bungie explained that Destiny 2's first year will be split into four seasons, with each new season being an opportunity for the developer to add new gear and make changes to the game. Bungie discussed how the feedback from fans given about the first Iron Banner has been heard and there will be some significant changes to the mode in Season 2.

But on top of those changes, Iron Banner and other events will be getting additional weapons and armor for players to chase. All of the gear will share a certain aesthetic to identify it as Destiny 2 Year One gear, however one of the ways Bungie mentioned changing the look of armor is through Ornaments. Ornaments were added in Destiny 1, and could drastically change the look of existing armor and weapons. Here is a look at the Iron Banner Ornaments coming in Season 2.

Not to be left out, new Iron Banner weapons will also hit the loot pool, and Bungie is looking to fill in the gaps with weapons not seen the first time around during the monthly PvP event. One developer specifically mentioned an Energy hand cannon coming in Season 2, whereas in Season 1 Iron Banner only offered a Kinetic hand cannon.

Bungie will be doing similar things with Trials of the Nine as well. Weapons for both Trials and Iron Banner will also feature new stats and perk rolls compared to the weapons in Season 1. Ornaments won't be a random drop either; Bungie says Ornaments will be unlocked by playing the game. The example given was a task such as playing 10 Iron Banner games.

When Faction Rallies return in Season 2, each faction will have new armor, weapons, and shaders to offer players. Bungie showed this concept art, with the caveat that there may be some minor adjustments from concept to the final items in game.

Destiny 2's Season 2 will debut sometime in the near future, most likely in December, although an exact date was not given. It will likely coincide with the release of the game's first expansion, Curse of Osiris, also planned to launch in December.

Destiny 2 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, and releases on October 24, 2017 for PC.
