The Halo franchise will always be associated with Bungie, but the developer has spent the majority of the last decade working on Destiny, an FPS MMO that did not start off well. The original game had a lot of problems, but it still managed to cultivate a dedicated fanbase, and that dedication paid off in the end because Bungie made a lot of improvements to the game between 2014 and 2017.

Destiny 2 had a rocky start as well, but when it comes to releasing quality content, it has been on a tear lately, and as time has passed, the game has gradually reintroduced veteran players to things they saw in the original game. For the most part, Destiny 2 has brought back several exotics but based on what was said during the recent Beyond Light expansion reveal, it looks like Bungie will be bringing back a lot more things in the near future, and this article will focus on some of the things fans will want to see make a comeback.

10 Venus

When Bungie revealed its latest expansion, game director Luke Smith also announced that certain destinations were going to be removed in order to add new content, but the developer also plans on bringing back old destinations from the original game.

In 2021, every Destiny 2 player will have access to the Vault of Glass raid, which means that hoards of players will finally get a chance to take on the franchise's first raid for the first time. The vault is located on Venus, and it wouldn't make sense to bring the raid back without bringing the planet back too.

9 Prison Of Elders

Veteran players revisited The Prison of Elders in Forsaken, and new players got to experience a small taste of the PVE arena activity in the Warden of Nothing strike, but it was nothing compared to the original.

The original activity saw players battle through waves of enemies while completing minor tasks at the same time, and after five rounds, players finally faced off against a random mini-boss. The most difficult version of the activity featured Skolas, the Fallen antagonist from the House of Wolves expansion who had different modifiers each week.

8 Cerberus Vae III Strike

When Beyond Light launches in September, Mars will be one of the locations that will temporarily be removed to make room for new content, which means that we are going to have to wait a long time before we are able to play the Cerberus Vae III Strike in Destiny 2.

The strike itself is nothing special, in fact, it is quite dull, but it sports one of the franchise's most quoted pieces of dialogue. Destiny veterans have heard Commander Zavala say the words, "Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars" over a hundred times, and it's about time we heard it on game again.

7 Gjallarhorn

Ever since Destiny's initial 2014 launch, players have acquired dozens of powerful exotic weapons, and many of those exotics have gradually been reintroduced into the sequel, but there is one rocket launcher that is still missing from the collection. The Gjallarhorn was coveted because of the immense damage it produced from its Wolfpack Rounds perk, which devastated enemies with cluster missiles.

The rocket launcher also came with a tracking perk to make sure it hit its targets, which is why it was able to take out a raid boss with ease. If Bungie really wants to make veteran players happy, they will let them get their hands on the game's most powerful weapon again.

6 Touch Of Malice

After defeating Oryx in The Taken King, players unlocked a quest that involved defeating raid bosses and collecting calcified fragments, and once all the steps were completed, players unlocked the Touch of Malice scout rifle. This exotic was quite unique, as it used a player's health for ammo, but it ended up dealing a great deal of damage as a result.

The rifle also has some major lore implications, as we feed Oryx's immortality every time we defeat an enemy with, which means that the weapon may in fact be the key to the villain's resurrection.

5 Sparrow Racing League

Every single Guardian uses a sparrow, but when you introduce high-speed terrain vehicles like this to a game like Destiny, players will want to race each other, which is why Bungie introduced the Sparrow Racing League in 2015. The SRL first appeared as a limited-time event, but it was eventually brought back as a permanent activity in 2017.

Bungie is always looking to improve the PVP portion of the game, and the SRL would be a welcomed edition since it's a free-for-all activity with its own gear and maps.

4 Strike Specific Armor

Strikes receive a lot of attention, and some are far better than others, but the original Destiny did something with strikes that the sequel hasn't. With the release of the Rise of Iron expansion, strikes began offering loot that could not be obtained any other way, and some of the armor drops were especially coveted because they were directly related to specific strike bosses.

Destiny 2 introduced Nightfall specific loot last summer, and although it included a few specific weapons, ships, and sparrows, there was no Hive or Cabal themed armor to be found.

3 Warlock Self-Resurrection

Thanks to the Well of Radiance, Warlocks have become essential for end game content like raids and high-level Nightfalls, but the Dawnbreaker subclass as a whole is still missing something significant. In the original game, the Warlock solar subclass was called "Sunsinger," and it included the Radiance tree, which allowed Warlocks to cast their supers from the grave.

This allowed Warlock players to self-revive, which is an incredibly useful ability to have during raids, especially since players in Destiny 2 are only allowed to revive one player per encounter.

2 Variks

We first met Variks The Loyal in the House of Wolves expansion in 2015, and he proved to be a valuable ally throughout the remainder of the original game's lifespan. Variks has not appeared in Destiny 2 yet, but he has been very active behind the scenes, as he is the one who initiated the prison break in Forsaken which ultimately claimed the life of Cayde-6.

Variks left the Reef in order to unite the Fallen their prophesied leader, but the main villain of the upcoming Beyond Light expansion is a female Fallen who is doing the same thing, so it will be interesting to see if they clash in some way.

1 The Dreadnaught

The Taken King is still the best piece of Destiny content that Bungie has released, and it brought players to the Dreadnaught, which was carved from a piece of the Worm God Akka. The Dreaming City was large and filled with multiple secrets, but it was inspired by the Dreadnaught, which came with a detailed Hive aesthetic.

We may have spent a whole year on the Dreadnaught, but the ship is massive and has a lot more to offer, and now that Bungie is gradually bringing destinations out of the vault, it is only a matter of time before we set foot on Oryx's flagship again.
