Today marks five weeks until the launch of Destiny 2's Witch Queen expansion, which is a very anticipated release because of all its story implications and all the new things coming with it. Bungie has been building up to Savathun's big moment for a long time, and the Hive God is now giving up the Darkness and her Worm to wield the Traveler's Light, albeit it appears that she stole it and also gave it to her so-called Lucent Brood. A big part of the campaign seems to involve Savathun's Throne World, which a recent trailer showed in more detail, including the Hive and the Scorn within. With The Witch Queen tackling the biggest threat to mankind in the form of the Hive getting the powers of the Light, the expansion is likely going to feature most of Destiny 2's cast, especially following the events of Season of the Lost. Ikora Rey is confirmed to be investigating the lead-up to The Witch Queen and helping the Guardians traverse Savathun's Throne World. Zavala is presumably playing a role as well, and it's not impossible that players will get to see more of Queen Mara and Crow as well.RELATED: Destiny 2 Player Completes Graviton Lance Catalyst in One BurstHowever, a newly released teaser trailer for The Witch Queen features the voice actress for Eris Morn, the famous three-eyed character that made a comeback in Shadowkeep. While Shadowkeep wasn't the most successful release Destiny 2 has seen, it did a great job at reprising the character lore-wise, while also building on her obsession with the Hive, something that Bungie delved even further into with Beyond Light. In fact, Eris Morn has sworn to kill Savathun, and she is currently one of the characters that make up the so-called Dark Vanguard.

The new trailer is rather short, but Eris Morn's ominous voice tells Guardians that their minds should bend to understand the truths that Savathun's Throne World contains as if the architecture itself was deceiving players like the Hive God of trickery. It's very plausible, at this point, that Eris Morn will play a big role in the expansion, possibly even more than she did in Shadowkeep.

Destiny 2's other Witch Queen trailer drew a parallel to a Thor: Ragnarok scene with a Titan Thundercrashing into a pack of Scorn, and the upcoming expansion does seem to be building onto stunning visuals. These, combined with Eris Morn's guidance, could make for epic encounters against Hive Guardians and other enemies, up until a confrontation with Savathun herself.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
