One thing that often gets lost in spacefaring titles like Destiny 2 is the scope of exactly how expansive space can be, along with how massive the objects flying around inside of it really are. One content creator who has made some pretty incredible videos from the game before, such as clan G1's PvP montage, has created a comparison that will put some of the stellar objects Bungie has created into perspective.

In a short clip shared to the artists' Twitter, Drexis Animations has made a simple comparison that shows the size of three objects against each other; a black pyramid, the Traveler, and Earth. The result is a shocking difference in scope that really shows exactly how small these structures players are fighting for and against in Destiny 2 really are when put up against the planets that they are able to transform.

The clip starts by showing the smallest of the three objects, one of the pyramids that showed up in appeared during Destiny 2's Shadowkeep expansion, before pulling out to the Traveler, then pulling back again to show Earth. When showing the difference between the Traveler and the pyramid, it's immediately obvious how a fleet of these ships can come together to be a threat to the Guardians' way of life. However, it's when the camera continues to pan out and show Earth that players are given a real view of exactly how small even these giants are, as the Traveler and pyramids seemingly disappear from view entirely.

In an additional tweet added to the thread, Drexis Animations explains that the Traveler and pyramid haven't been entirely removed from the shot. Each of these massive space structures that Guardians and champions of the darkness worship only register as pixels when holding the entire Earth comfortably in frame. Even with players taking on Destiny 2 raid bosses as massive as Riven, they still pale in comparison to the size of the planets they stand on, which are still able to be so affected by the Traveler that is so small it doesn't register in comparison.

Giving a real sense of perspective can be difficult in science-fiction, especially in space operas that span across the universe, galaxies, or even something as seemingly simple as the solar system. Eventually, numbers and sizes become too large to really comprehend without being given a sense of scale to solidify exactly how large a planet or star actually is. So, while objects like the the Traveler and patrol areas in Destiny 2 may seem dramatically large, it's really only a tiny portion of the explorable space in the entire solar system.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
