There are a large number of Destiny 2 players hanging around on Io waiting for the Taken Blight public event to start, and getting frustrated when it’s “Cabal, Again?” and not the Taken Blight event. However, fans will be pleased to hear that Bungie has corrected an issue that caused the Taken Blight to stop spawning, so Destiny 2 players won't be waiting forever to get their hands on one of the most powerful exotics in the game.

The Whispers quest is directly tied to the Taken Blight public event, so fans wanting to snag the Whispers of the Worm exotic sniper rifle are stuck waiting around until the Blight event spawns in on the Lost Oasis. Some fans on the Destiny subreddit stated that they have been waiting for hours with no Taken Blight event in sight. Fans are upset at the lack of Taken Blights, as the anomaly will end tomorrow and be back next week.

Fortunately, once players complete The Whispers for the first time, the heroic version is available on the map, so no more waiting for the public event. The heroic version holds many more secrets than the standard version does, like a secret Oracles puzzle and an exotic ship blueprint. It seems that the heroic version will be available every week, since the blueprint tasks players with completing the heroic mission with different weekly singe modifiers.

The Whispers is one of the most complex and interesting mission Bungie has crafted in the history of Destiny. When the event was first discovered, the entire Destiny community rallied together to solve all the mysteries that the mission had to offer. Hopefully, these sorts of missions will be more common as guardians take on the Scorn in Forsaken.

Destiny 2: Forsaken launches September 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
