The Sunbreaker Titan returns in Bungie'Destiny 2 as a powerful Titan subclass. Since its first appearance in Destiny's The Taken King expansion, Sunbreakers retain their attachment to Solar power to unleash Light and devastate their foes. As a Titan, Sunbreakers, in general, make great tanks and defenders in fireteams. They can summon hammers for attacks and erect barriers to protect allies.

Moreover, Sunbreakers have a great roster of Solar-enhanced abilities. Depending on the specialization, Sunbreakers deal devastating AOE, self-buff while wreaking havoc in the battlefield, or set up an assault while defending allies. For Sunbreaker Titans who want to excel in PVE, how can they make use of all these abilities?

10 Careful With Barricades

Thanks to their Barricades, Sunbreakers have two unique options for protecting their fireteam and provide significant cover. The Rally Barricade manifests as a chest-high wall that serves as a cover for the fireteam. Moreover, the Rally Barricade provides a reload speed boost for Guardians behind it. This factor helps them secure important points for the raid much faster,

Meanwhile, Towering Barricade creates a much larger wall compared to Rally Barricade. While it doesn't have the reload speed boost and the cover mechanic, the Towering Barricade does a great job protecting allies against orange-bars and bosses that cause large splash damage.

9 Buff Allies In The Front Lines

While Sunbreaker Titans tend to serve more as DPS for fireteams, their skillset under Code of the Fire-Forged gives slight buffs to nearby allies that help them strike together. For instance, their Tempered Metal ability grants the Sunbreaker and their allies a boost in reload speed and movement speed with Solar ability kills.

Moreover, the rest of the Fire-Forged abilities lean towards making sure the Sunbreaker can deal devastating AOE damage. For instance, triggering Hammer Strike while sprinting can make the Sunbreaker unleash a flaming hammer against enemies. Vulcan Rage shatters hammers in explosions upon impact. Lastly, Explosive Pyre will force enemies to explode after being killed by Hammer of Sol.

8 Hold The Line With Devastator

Meanwhile, Code of the Devastator serves as the primary tanking spec of Sunbreakers. For instance, Roaring Flames increases the damage of Solar abilities after kills with these traits. Additionally, Tireless Warrior provides health regeneration to the Sunbreaker after they hit enemies with Throwing Hammer. Lastly, Burning Maul unleashes a maul that devastates enemy forces.

Moreover, Sunbreakers can hold the line from a distance not just with their weapons but also with their other abilities. Throwing Hammer allows Sunbreakers to throw their hammer into enemies, with their melee getting a full recharge when the hammer is picked up.

7 Break Enemy Lines With Siegebreaker

Unlike other skill trees, the Sunbreaker devastates enemy lines with the Code of the Siegebreaker. Thanks to Mortar Blast, enemies they hit release a Solar blast that damages nearby enemies. Their other abilities also create Sunspots which, with the right combination, can grant additional buffs.

Moreover, Sol Invictus grants the Sunbreaker enhanced healing and restoration per kill. Additionally, melee kills and grenade kills they cause leave a Sunspot. Moreover, impacts with Endless Siege create Sunspots on impact which grants them a boost in hammer-throwing speed. Lastly, Sun Warrior helps the Sunbreakers recharge their Super faster and boost its duration when passing Sunspots.

6 Debilitate Enemy Lines With Grenades

Most of the Grenades in the Sunbreaker's arsenal are devoted to burning enemies in different ways. For instance, the Incendiary Grenade sets enemies on fire. Moreover, enemies burned with this Grenade not only suffers damage over time but also suffers a minor debuff that leaves them vulnerable to other attacks.

Meanwhile, the Thermite Grenade works great against clusters of opponents. This grenade launches a line of fire that burns enemies in it, perfect for encounters in small rooms. Lastly, the Fusion Grenade attaches themselves to enemies before exploding. Not only does this Grenade cause a bit of light tracking, it adds enough damage to possibly take down opponents.

5 Always Leading The Charge

Guardians building a Sunbreaker Titan should remember that they're responsible for leading the charge. As such, their combination of Perks, Mods, and sets should focus on improving their Resilience and Recovery, as well as their Strength. Improving these stats will let Sunbreakers soak on damage while pummeling enemies should they get in close range.

Moreover, Guardians should remember to unleash their Barricades in the right moments. As they lead the charge, Sunbreakers should release their Rally Barricade when facing larger groups of mods and to use Towering Barricade only against bosses or when the faster Warlocks and Hunters want to reposition.

4 Jump Carefully For The Setup

Like other classes, Sunbreakers have a unique set of jump abilities that give them an edge when maneuvering around the battlefield. They have the High Lift (neutral burst), Strafe Lift (strong directional control, weaker burst), and Catapult Lift (weaker directional control, stronger burst).

Sunbreakers should probably master the Catapult Lift and the Strafe Lift. For instance, the Strafe Lift gives great directional control that can help them get to their allies much faster. Meanwhile, the Catapult Lift gives Guardians a much-needed momentum boost to get into cover faster or behind enemies.

3 Secure Vantage Points With Towering Barricade

While Sunbreakers are encouraged to use their Barricades often, Titans may benefit from Towering Barricade more. However, Titans should take note where to use Towering Barricade, as they work best in small corridors with tight entrances.

For instance, Guardians aware of mobs of enemies in an area can retreat to a tight corner and release the Towering Barricade to protect this vantage point. This creates a barrier that forces enemies to circle around the Barricade just to hit the fireteam. As such, this situation will hopefully give the Guardian enough time to pummel through mobs with melee or pick off opponents slowly but safely.

2 Hammer Of Sol Encourages Roaming

Despite the Titan's nature as a tanking class, the Hammer of Sol Super Ability encourages them to roam around the battlefield to devastate opponents. As such, the ideal approach to activating Hammer of Sol is from behind cover and then jumping out to attack enemies one by one.

Moreover, as soon as the Sunbreaker activates Hammer of Sol, they're highly recommended to go airborne. Not only does going airborne add a ton of mobility options, but this status also makes Titans hard to predict - thus giving the fireteam the upper hand.

1 Focus Super Energy On One Enemy

Titans who activate their Super in heated questline firefights would likely want to focus on multiple enemies at once. Unfortunately, this factor might cause them to just spam their hammers to the "general direction" of the enemy.

However, instead of wasting their energy on spamming targets, Titans should instead focus the Hammer of Sol on single targets. If in PVP this means locking on to a single hero, in PVE this means targeting the enemies that deal the most damage at the moment - be it the boss itself, or the orange-bars with them.
