As Bungie continues to tweak and fine-tune the overall Destiny 2 experience, fans are quickly entering into an exciting time. After releasing a few big updates for the game, season 3 is now only a couple weeks away alongside the second downloadable content pack known as Warmind. To ensure that the game continues to trend in the right direction, Bungie recently held a summit for a handful of content creators. In addition to playtesting new content, feedback at the event also seems to have saved Bungie from a potential future headache with something it had planned for release.

In a new story mentioned on the Destiny Community Podcast, content creator Datto revealed that Bungie presented an idea it had been working on in a future Destiny 2 update. After hearing it in full, the new feature ultimately wasn't well received by the visiting content creators, which Bungie quickly took back to the drawing board and made a number of much better tweaks for it. The concerning thing to the DCP crew was that Bungie originally thought that the idea was great and if it had decided to not run it by the community, it would have likely set fans off once more.

Unfortunately, the creators summit also came with an NDA (Non-disclosure agreement), meaning that any and all details cannot be shared with the general public. While fans will likely need to wait until fall to hear the full details on what actually went down, a few players have filled in some gaps, saying that while the feature did address an issue that the community has brought up, it wasn't fun and likely would have caused more harm than good. It'll be interesting to see if this kind of feedback and response to it can start to convince those high profile players who have since left for various reasons to come back.

Overall, many content creators who attended the event reported that it was a productive time for both sides. Various topics were thrown around, such as Raids and weapon slot changes. Bungie also revealed a new game mode it had been working on intended for release alongside the upcoming Warmind DLC and let the creators play it for a while. While rumors continue to point to the recently leaked Deep Stone Crypt activity, it has been confirmed that it won't be a Battle Royale style mode to cash in on the recent popularity from games like Fortnite or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
