A Destiny 2 player discovers that the Strand subclass allows Guardians to ride rockets by using the new grapple ability. Destiny 2 players may utilize Strand subclass on Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters by purchasing the Lightfall expansion, which launched on February 28.

Destiny 2: Lightfall takes players to Neomuna, a technologically advanced city on Neptune that survived the Collapse in secret. Neomuna is the stage for a pivotal battle against the forces of the Witness as players master their new Strand subclass powers. Strand allows Guardians to weave the fabric of reality with devastating telekinetic abilities and silk-like Darkness powers. One of these new Strand abilities includes the ability to grapple by expending grenade energy, allowing players to swing across worlds.

Reddit user u/Vengie10 recently discovered the Strand's grapple grenade ability may latch onto rockets shot out of a rocket launcher in Destiny 2: Lightfall. By grappling onto the rocket launcher projectile, Destiny 2 players may soar high into the sky similarly to Spider-Man's web-swinging in Marvel's Spider-Man. The user demonstrates this maneuver on Europa by shooting a rocket and quickly grappling to it while it's still within range for the Strand ability. The Reddit post shows u/Vengie10 soaring high above the Exo Stranger's encampment after grappling onto the rocket, riding it well above the tall glaciers found on Europa's surface.

Destiny 2's Strand subclasses easily allow players to grapple their way across the solar system since its powers are attuned with the fabric of the universe. However, the grapple grenade ability has its own limits in terms of speed and reach. Players may grapple onto the rocket if the rocket launcher's velocity stat is low enough to keep the projectile within range of the Strand ability. In this case, the user shoots upward instead of forward to reduce the rocket's overall velocity.

This new Strand trick may be useful for navigating Neomuna, Europa, and other large areas in Destiny 2. The Lightfall expansion encourages players to grapple their way across the Neomuna cityscape, and the use of rockets may bring an element of surprise while battling dark Cabal enemies in the Destiny 2: Lightfall Legendary campaign. Strand's range has its limits, so it's up to players to adjust to its limited reach when trying to ride a rocket.

Alongside the grapple grenade ability, Strand users may benefit from higher rocket launcher DPS in Destiny 2. The increase in damage and mobility should prove useful to those attempting to complete high-level content from the Lightfall expansion and the latest season, Season of Defiance.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
