The Nightstalker Hunter class's newest super in Destiny 2, Spectral Blades, is getting a pretty generous buff in an upcoming update. While Bungie did not reveal exactly when players can expect that buff, the developer did go into detail about the changes coming to the newest Nightstalker subclass.

These changes should make the Spectral Blades a much stronger option when it comes to choosing between the Hunter class's new supers. Before the Forsaken expansion released, Spectral Blades looked like it could be extremely strong, but once players got their hands on the subclass, they realized it was not as good as it seemed, suffering from poor hit registration, difficulty being able to close the gap to enemies, and a general feeling of weakness among some other powerful supers added to the Destiny 2 sandbox with Forsaken.

But the changes that are planned could give a tremendous boost to the super. First off, the new changes will increase the melee lunge range of all attacks, which will hopefully fix the issue of not being able to reach enemies quickly. The super energy lost on light melee attacks will also be reduced, which should extend the duration of the super a bit.

It's clear that Bungie isn't looking to make Spectral Blades into Bladedancer 2.0 from Destiny 1. While Bladedancers could quickly take on a group of enemies, Bungie is clearly trying to keep Spectral Blades at a slower, stalking pace. With that, Spectral Blades will have a slower attack speed to improve hit detection on the intended target and the melee targeting is being retuned to have a greater emphasis on player input, meaning the super will register a hit where the camera and/or reticle is facing.

In addition, the super's stealth capabilities are getting a buff, with players gaining a "small amount" of damage resistance while in the stealth state and further decreasing super energy drain while in stealth.

Again, Bungie did not provide players with a date as to when this update will release, and said that as the update goes through further testing and certification, some of these details could change.
