Now that the Warmind DLC has come and gone, many Destiny 2 players will be wondering what Bungie will be offering next in its online-only multiplayer first-person shooter. For its fanbase, the company has revealed a new development roadmap that promises a fair number of goodies between now and September, including a brand new event coming this summer.

It appears that the majority of the updates for Destiny 2 will kick off in September, as the game begins its second year with new gear collections, records, weapon slot changes, weapon randomization, new gameplay modes, and more unrevealed content. That doesn’t mean, however, that Destiny 2 players will simply have to wait until then to get the most out of the game.

The roadmap also reveals a new seasonal event known as “Solstice of Heroes” where players can celebrate accomplishments and earn new rewards, which appears to be taking place in July. This news comes readily from game director Christopher Barrett, and although little is known concerning the exact details of the event, it’s likely to help give the game a solid end to its first year.

This new event isn’t the only change coming this summer either, as Barrett promises to deliver the highly desired Prestige modes, bring back bounties, deliver various quality of life improvements, and more. The roadmap (depicted above) also shows PC Clan Text Chat, Year 1 Triumphs, and more exotic armor sandbox changes on the docket for July. Before then, however, one of the most exciting revelations -- other than the Solstices of Heroes -- from this roadmap is the Crucible Labs.

As year 1 of Destiny 2 moves toward an end, it appears that Bungie plans to end it with a bang. Whether it’s the Crucible Labs, Solstice of Heroes, or information about the upcoming September expansion, there’s a little something for everyone coming this summer. As more information about the aforementioned becomes available, we’ll keep you up to date. Until then, Guardians, good luck out there.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
