Destiny 2's annual Solstice of Heroes event is set to kick off once again soon. Now, Bungie has released a new trailer showing Destiny 2 players what they can expect from the event.

The Solstice of Heroes event is one of Destiny 2's most popular, as it revolves around upgrading a set of armor that is wholly unique to that year's event. Each class gets its own distinct armor set and players have to complete a series of challenges over the course of the event to level them up and increase their power. Every year, the event also features other exclusive rewards, like legendary weapons, ghost ornaments, or new emotes and vehicles.

This year, the Solstice of Heroes also brings a new activity known as the European Aerial Zone. It is a relatively short activity for three players that sees them jumping through a floating island over the European Dead Zone to defeat as many bosses as possible and search for loot caches to loot. Completing the activity will reward Solstice Key Fragments that can be used to unlock Solstice Packages that can give players a variety of rewards, including the event's new legendary Compass Rose Shotgun as well as various materials for Destiny 2's systems like Transmog.

Of course, 2021's Solstice of Heroes also has to bring about new Solstice Armor Sets. Each armor set has three tiers for players to level through, with each giving the set new visuals and abilities. The first two tiers of the armor sets can be completed during the event, but unlocking the third tier will require players to keep working on the challenges after the event has come to a close. For players who can't choose just one class in Destiny 2, this year's event also includes armor accelerants that are earned from completing challenges to help players finish their armor sets on secondary and tertiary characters.

The trailer also gives players a glimpse at what the Solstice Armor Sets look like, as well as the Compass Rose Shotgun in action. The trailer also features quick looks at the variety of other cosmetics that will be available during the event. It is great to see Bungie continuing to support and adapt its events for Destiny 2 based on player feedback, and it will be very interesting to see what this event all has in store for players. With other changes coming to Destiny 2 in the future, it seems that fans have a lot to get excited about.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Solstice of Heroes event is available in-game from July 6 to August 3.
