While many are looking forward to the September release of the Shadowkeep expansion, Destiny 2 isn't one to rest on its laurels, as the Solstice of Heroes event is set to begin on July 30 and run through August 30. Much like last year's event, this event will introduce new armor for players to try out across all characters in the form of Drained, Renewed, and Majestic Armor. Now, thanks to a datamine of the forthcoming event, it's now known how players will upgrade that armor.

Before moving forward, it's worth mentioning that Destiny 2 players will need to speak with Eva Levante to begin this year's celebration. The first step after speaking to Levante hasn't been fully revealed, but whatever it is, players will need to explore the new Aerial Zone and obtain the Drained armor after that quest step. With the Drained armor equipped, the next step is to pray at the Statue of Heroes before setting out to upgrade the armor through its various stages.

The Solstice of Heroes is a part of Guardian tradition, where they reflect on past hardships and celebrate humanity's resiliency. This aspect of Destiny 2 lore explains the need for the event and the new armor, so here is every quest step involved in upgrading armor from Drained to Majestic.

destiny 2 solstice of heroes details

It's worth highlighting, however, that this information comes as a result of a datamine, so any of these quest steps could be tweaked or significantly changed prior to the beginning of Destiny 2's Solstice of Heroes 2019 event. We expect most of these steps will remain the same nonetheless, as this event will practically draw Year 2 to a close, and Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and its new armor 2.0 system will be the beginning of Year 3.
