With the Tribute Hall and Moments of Triumph currently keeping most Destiny 2 players busy, Bungie has been busy preparing the next phase of summer content behind the scenes. While dataminers managed to uncover some early information on the upcoming 2019 Solstice of Heroes event, Bungie has finally made it all official with a new trailer and blog post full of new details.

As recently revealed, the Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes content does bring back the armor upgrade system. Once July 30 arrives, guardians can meet up with seasonal vendor Eva Levante near the Statue of Heroes at the Tower to begin the quest. While the post doesn't go into specifics as to what the challenges will be, the system follows last year where players start at the lowest level of Drained and work their way up through Renewed, then Majestic, and finally Masterwork.

Unlikely the neon infused armor from last year, this year's majestic armor comes with a more regal theme with gold plating. However, for those wanting a glow from their armor, they can purchase them directly using Silver or Bright Dust at the Eververse store. To avoid the same fate of the 2018 Solstice armor, this year's version is the first set to introduce the new Armor 2.0 mechanics that are coming inside of the Shadowkeep expansion.

While plenty of new content is being introduced such as summer themed ghost shells, emotes, and other exotic customization options, the major peice is a new PvE activity set in the European Aerial Zone (EAZ). This series of floating islands follows the same style as the Menagerie in that a fireteam of three people have a set amount of time to take out as many minibosses as they can. When time runs out, the final boss will appear and awards Solstice Packages. These award materials, rare and legendary gear, as well as Enhancement Cores.

The event lasts until August 27, give players nearly a month to craft a new armor set and collect all of the new items included in this event. It also gives players a chance to check out daily elemental buffs which supercharge the player until they're defeated or the timer runs out. Thankfully, this part of the event has no effect on Gambit Prime or the Crucible, a direct response to the major problems that the last seasonal event, The Revelry, caused.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
