A new Bungie survey is asking fans about the different type of content they would like to see in Destiny 2, which possibly hints towards future changes and additions to the game. The survey notably asks if players would like to see more of single-player content and space combat, which paints an exciting picture for upcoming seasons or its next major expansion, Destiny 2 The Final Shape.

Destiny 2 is a mix of PvP and PvE combat, where players have single-player, co-op, and multiplayer game modes to choose from. Many feel that adding more content that pertains to one of these categories, or is something entirely new, can enhance the gameplay experience. For instance, a recent leak has claimed that Destiny 2 Season of the Deep could be adding fishing as a feature. Interestingly, such an activity is also mentioned in the survey alongside a couple of others, which could be a confirmation of sorts.

As reported by The Game Post, aside from single-player content, space combat, and fishing, the survey also asks if players would like to see more competitive gameplay, competitive leaderboards, more crossover content with other games, a third-person mode, cooperative gameplay, and player-generated content as well. In addition to this, it also asks if players want activities involving a larger group of players, something like a battle royale mode, and also suggests the possibility of offline progression. Other things include the possibility of having more open-world maps in Destiny 2, additional ways of communicating with other players, and slower-paced game modes.

This survey has players bubbling with excitement and anticipation as they believe even a handful of these additions to Destiny 2 will take it to the next level. Although, realistically, community members also agreed that these changes are too extensive to be included all at once in the current game, or even with the Destiny 2 The Final Shape expansion which releases next year, despite what the survey suggests. Many believe some things from this survey might make it to the current game, but others think this could be Bungie's way of gauging interest in certain features for one of its future projects.

Bearing that in mind, Bungie is already hiring for a competitive focused PvP game, which will take the pressure off Destiny 2 that has struggled to balance its PvP and PvE aspects. It is also working on a completely new IP, and has also registered the name "Matter," which could be another project it is working on. Given that the survey has already mentioned a focus on competitive gameplay and some other aspects as well, those could be a part of one of these projects.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
