Destiny 2 players can acquire their own roll of the new Trials of Osiris SMG, Shayura’s Wrath, by completing a very simple seasonal challenge that does not require a Flawless Passage. While it is not one of the best weapons a Destiny 2 player could get from Trials, it can roll with some of the new perks in Season of the Splicer that can make it very good in PvP.

Shayura’s Wrath was added to the Trials loot pool with Season of the Splicer, and players can get an Adept variant by completing a Flawless Passage. PvP in general has had a rough time over the last year, with Stasis Subclasses ruining the Crucible leading to rebalancing, and cheaters using hacks.

Players can get their Shayura’s Wrath by completing the “Trial By Firing Squad” seasonal challenge from week eight of Season of the Splicer. This challenge tasks Destiny 2 players with simply winning seven rounds in Trials of Osiris matches. With matches ending when a fireteam wins five rounds, any player should be able to accomplish this in just two matches, making this extremely achievable for most players, even those who rarely, or even never, go into Trials.

Shayura’s Wrath is a 600RPM, Void-energy SMG making it comparable to the Seventh Seraph SMG and the Every Waking Moment Moon SMG which will be reprised next week. Shayura’s Wrath can roll with new perks, including Tunnel Vision which pairs well with Kill Clip, but can also roll with the recently improved Celerity perk. For this week in Trials of Osiris, Shayura’s Wrath is the loot reward for getting seven match wins on a passage.

This seasonal challenge was available in Season the Chosen too, but it offered an Igneous Hammer Hand Cannon as a reward. With the challenge making its return this week, it was unclear as to whether Igneous Hammer would be the reward again or if it would be a different weapon. In Bungie’s weekly blog, some weapon balancing patch notes for Season 15 revealed that 120RPM Hand Cannons like Igneous Hammer will receive a nerf.

Given that Trials is played by a relatively small number of players, this challenge is a great opportunity for Destiny 2 players to get themselves some of the mode’s loot that they would not normally be able to get. The promise of a decent reward should also encourage more players to give Trials a go. Perhaps Bungie should try and implement a similar version of this challenge and its rewards for Nightfall Strikes, with players receiving one of the new weapons, such as the Hung Jury SR4 Scout Rifle, which may receive a PvE buff in Season 15.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S
