While some Destiny 2 players thought that the new Vex Offensive activity was going to launch after a team beat the Garden of Salvation raid for the first time, Vex Invasion sites on the Moon are now active and the Vex Offensive activity has appeared on the Director. However, to access the Vex Offensive mode, players need to complete a quest to unlock it. Here's how.

First, when players first log in to Destiny 2 today, they will be greeted by the cinematic that was released this summer at Gamescom as the trailer for Season of the Undying. Then they will automatically be flown into the Tower. If the players check the Director, they will see that the Vex Offensive activity is now there, but requires the Eyes on the Moon to be completed first. It all starts with this quest.

Visit Ikora

Destiny 2 players need to first head to Ikora Rey, who will have something to say about the Vex and then ask for help with the situation on the Moon. She gives players the Emergent Protocol quest step, which requires players to defeat 100 Vex and 3 Gate Lords.

Go to the Moon

On the Moon map, players will see that the Vex Offensive activity has its own node now but it requires completion "Eyes on the Moon " first. That requirement is confusing players, but they will get the "Eyes of the Moon" requirement once this quest step is completed from Ikora.

To complete the Emergent Protocol requirements, players should look for the Vex Invasion Zones that are marked on the Moon map. They can be found in Archer's Line, Anchor of Light, and the Hellmouth. Vex Invasions occur in the vicinity of these markers like a random public event. Look to the sky for a big Vex portal with lightning coming out of it, which marks the start of these events. Vex will start pouring out of the portal. This is where players can farm Vex kills and kill three Gate Lords that will spawn through more portals in the area.

Go to Eris Morn

After players get enough kills and complete the Emergent Protocol quest step, they will be directed to Eris Morn. Talk to her in the main Sanctuary landing zone area on the Moon and the quest will update to the "Eyes on the Moon" quest step and will unlock the Vex Offensive activity.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
