Update: The error was resolved about nine hours after it started, with the Bungie Help Twitter account informing players about the fix at 4:22 a.m. PDT on September 7, 2017. Login has functioned normally since then without any further interruptions.

Destiny 2 is currently having login issues on PlayStation 4, causing players to be unable to get into the game at all. The issue was noted by the official Bungie Help Twitter account at 7:23 p.m. Pacific on September 6, the evening of the game's launch day. As of 12:24 a.m. on September 7 the issue has yet to be resolved.

The only good news is for those who were already logged into Destiny 2 when the issue occurred. They remained logged into the game and are still able to play. But for any player on PS4 trying to launch Destiny 2, they will be met with the error screen below, noting an issue with "permissions to access online multiplayer."

Both Destiny 2's developer Bungie as well as PlayStation look to be investigating the issue, but there's no word on when it might be fixed or when players will be able to log in again.

Destiny 2 is available now on PS4 and Xbox One, and releases on October 24, 2017 for PC.
