Destiny 2's Seraph Tower Public Event can be a tedious grind due to it only having a possibility of dropping the coveted Rasputin loot chest rather than a guarantee. But one player has discovered a trick that lessens the time players have to spend completing it.

Usually, Destiny 2's Seraph Tower demands that players infuse six different Polar Charges with the ball of the central tower to complete it. However, the trick pointed out by Reddit user Ledian00 lowers the threshold of Polar Charges needed.

To perform it, players will need the Tractor Cannon Exotic Shotgun. Anyone that doesn't have it will have to obtain it by chance. It can be decoded from Exotic Engrams or earned by completing events like Nightfalls. Xur also sells it at random intervals for 29 Legendary Shards.

After equipping the Exotic Weapon, all players need to do is shoot the ball-target tethered to the central tower by a beam of energy — the one that players aim the other six Polar Charges at to complete the event. Shooting the ball causes it to debuff and thus lower its required amount of Polar Charges from six to five. The trick doesn't reduce the event's runtime by a considerable amount, but it does lower it all the same.

Whether or not the ball-target is susceptible to multiple debuffs wasn't specified in the post, so after the player shoots it, they may be able to have a teammate lower the ball from five to four and so on. While it doesn't sound likely, there's no harm in experimenting, especially since this trick is more than likely a bug and not actually something that players should be capable of doing.

At least, that's what Destiny 2's Community Manager Dylan "dmg" Gafner's reaction to it made it seem like. He happened to catch and become fairly confused by Ledian00's Reddit post during his browse to find information to bring back to Bungie.

However, while he did take note of the "trick," any fans looking to try it out themselves don't have to worry about it disappearing just yet. Dmg claims that he has enough feedback to deliver to Bungie as it is, and this trick isn't on his list of priorities to pass along. So, for the time being, players looking to ease their Seraph Tower grind have some time on their hands.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
