In the This Week at Bungie blogpost, Bungie announced that Destiny 2’s Year 2 plans will be officially revealed on June 5 on the Bungie Twitch channel. Judging by the art released in the blog post, it looks like the September expansion will likely take guardians back to the Reef, home of the Awoken in the Destiny universe. Fans expected the Reef to be the next destination for Destiny 2 due to the last cutscene of the campaign, which supposedly hinted at Bungie’s entire DLC plan.

The livestream will feature several faces from Bungie, including Game Director Steve Cotton and Project Lead Scott Taylor, and hosted by Bungie Community Manager DeeJ. The livestream will likely show off some of the new content set to launch in September, as well as address some community feedback about the state of Destiny 2 currently. Crucible Labs recently launched in Destiny 2, so crucible players will be able to provide plenty of feedback about the state of the PvP environment.

During an Activision earnings call shortly before the launch of Warmind, it was revealed that Destiny 2’s September expansion will feature a new game mode that is new to the FPS genre. There have been no other mentions of the new game mode, but perhaps Bungie will give some insight into this claim during the reveal stream. Hopefully, the new game mode will keep players invested in the game like Escalation Protocol has for some players in Destiny 2.

Destiny typically has some time on the E3 show floor, so fans may get to see more of what Bungie is bringing to Destiny 2 in September. Due to Bungie’s partnership with Sony, it may even be featured during the Sony panel, which will be featured in theaters. Regardless, Destiny 2 fans can catch a glimpse at the future on June 5, at 9 a.m. PST over on Twitch.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
