Bungie is a company that is no stranger to adding secrets and hiding Easter Eggs into its games. One of the more famous examples came within Destiny, where players discovered a secret quest that awarded a powerful sniper rifle called The Black Spindle for those who not only found the secret entrance but cleared the level under a certain time. This past weekend, Destiny 2 players discovered a newly added secret mission with its own Black Spindle type exotic reward, though the mission appears to be taking a short break.

In a Tweet Sunday night, Bungie made it known to all Destiny 2 players that The Whispers exotic quest is closing early prior to the normal weekly reset that happens on each Tuesday. While that may disappoint some players who didn't get a chance to make an attempt after it was only just discovered a couple days ago, the Twitter also makes it clear that the quest line will be back sometime next week.

Bungie is also addressing a common complaint tied to the Taken Blight public event on Io. The newly exclusive exotic is only accessible through this specific public event and unfortunately, it isn't a common occurrence as compared to some of the others found on this world. In an effort to reduce the amount of wasted time on the planet, community managers Cosmo and dmg04 confirmed that Bungie is looking into fixing the spawn rates of the Taken Blight event. No word if the update will arrive prior to the next instance of the exotic quest, however.

Even though The Whisper quest will test many players, the reward is quite worth it. Known as Whisper of the Worm, this exotic sniper rifle is an incredibly powerful weapon thanks to its exotic perk called White Nail. Not only does this increase the weapon's base precision damage, but hitting three precision shots in a row instantly refills the magazine. To make the gun even stronger, players can start to earn its exotic catalyst by clearing the heroic version of the timed The Whispers mission as well as finding five hidden chests there.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
