With only a few weeks left with Season of Dawn, many players are racing to finish up outstanding triumphs and quests before they disappear for ever. The final phase of content this season arrives next week during the reset, bringing with it an encounter with Inotam, Oblivion's Triune inside of the Sundial as well as they mysterious event known as the Empyrean Foundation. Bungie has yet to detail this event in any capacity, leaving fans to speculate at what it could be. However, thanks to what seems to be a glitch, a couple of Destiny 2 players may have discovered a secret related to it much earlier than expected.

Over on Twitter, a couple of Destiny 2 players posted pictures of a strange mission that popped up called Worthy. According to one user, the quest mission appears in orbit after completing a forge run. Unfortunately, the mission can't be activated as it requires the Empyrean Restorer triumph to be completed first. This triumph technically isn't active yet in game as players need to donate Polarized Fractaline to the Tower Obelisk to help in the Empryrean Restoration effort.

However, the mission text is also visible and it appears to definitely tie in to the speculation that the Lighthouse, as well as Trials of Osiris, is coming back. According to the mission, players will be heading to Mercury to provide support towards the restoration and rekindle the Lighthouse. As Destiny 1 players may remember, the Lighthouse was a major component in Trials of Osiris, a destination that is obtained only by going flawless through nine games in a row.

Needless to say, this mission likely slipped out earlier than expected as a result of the rougher than usual update this week. Upon logging in, players began realizing that certain materials like Glimmer and important upgrade resources had been deleted outright from their inventory. Bungie moved quickly to pull the game down for emergency maintenance before ultimately rolling all character data back a couple of hours before the update. While this fixed the inventory issue, it also removed any progress players made in the game between 8:30 a.m and 10:20 a.m PST.

At this point, Trials of Osiris seems to be the worst kept secret in Destiny 2 right now. Not only does this mission reveal the Lighthouse is coming back, but it goes hand in hand with details pulled by dataminers from the updated game files during the maintenance window. They discovered a new dialogue line or message post buried in the files indicating the Trials of Osiris will return in Season of the Worthy. Not only did this confirm Trials of Osiris, but it also gave fans the name of the next upcoming season as well.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
