Destiny 2's Season of the Lost introduced a brand new set of challenges for each week of the Season, as customary with the game's seasonal model. To complete all of the challenges for week 1, Destiny 2 players can use this quick guide.

Wayfinder's Voyage 1

This challenge is the easiest of the bunch, and it is bestowed upon players after playing through the introductory mission for Season of the Lost, called Mission Cocoon. To complete the challenge, players have to finish the first step for the Wayfinder's Voyage questline, and also kill Taken enemies anywhere in the game.

The first bit requires players to gather Parallax Trajectory from playlist activities such as Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit, or from Ascendant Anchors scattered across the EDZ and Shattered Realm. The latter is a good place to start because it's also part of another weekly challenge, but Strikes like Lake of Shadows can also be effective thanks to the fact that it features exclusively Taken enemies.

Umbral Wayfinder 1

For this challenge, the first bit is about opening three Wayfinder's Troves, which are found at the end of the Astral Alignment activity and need 150 Parallax Trajectory each to be opened - 450 total. For the second part, players need to spend Parallax Trajectory at the Prismatic Recaster when focusing an Umbral Engram for Season of the Lost gear.

While many of the good options are locked behind Lenses that unlock as players complete their corresponding Triumphs, the Prismatic Recaster also offers players the chance of focusing Umbral Engrams to drop either seasonal weapons or armor. This costs 150 Parallax Trajectory to do, and players need to do it three times, meaning that this challenge costs at least 900 Parallax Trajectory to finish.

Ascendant Ballast 1

To complete this challenge, players need to acquire a total of 30 Ascendant Anchors - 20 from the EDZ and 10 from the Shattered Realm. There are 23 Ascendant Anchors in the EDZ, currently, meaning that players can skip three of them that may be hard to find. The easiest are those found in Trostland, as they can all be found with very little exploration of the surroundings. There are five Ascendant Anchors in Trostland, and then 5 more in both The Gulch and Sunken Isles.

Then, there are 4 of them in The Sludge, and the last 4 are in Winding Cove.

As for those in the Shattered Realm, many will be found while exploring the area, but others are hidden. Among them, there is one hidden on a higher level of the church where the first Beacon is located, and it requires the Invoke Breach Barrier upgrade from the seasonal vendor.

Then, there is a sunken cave just right of the ruins prior to the second Beacon that players normally align in the Shattered Realm, and one more on a floating island near the second Beacon.

Ley Line Rumors

For this challenge, players need to unlock the first upgrade from the seasonal vendor, as it will allow them to use the Invoke Breach Barrier artifacts in the Shattered Realm. This is where the challenge takes place, and it entails finding secret places hidden by barriers. There are three for this week, with the first being inside the mausoleum towards the beginning of the Shattered Realm.

The second is located to the right of the church, facing the Beacon. Players have to follow the path and get to an abandoned building with barriers at the first level and on the roof.

The third can be reached where a big archway is, up ahead and then to the left when leaving the church from its entrance. For a full guide, players can check this one out: Destiny 2: How to Find Trivial Mysteries in the Shattered Realm (Ley Line Rumors Challenge).

Momentum Crash

This challenge is the most urgent, as it can only be completed in this specific Crucible mode. PVP players will find it moderately challenging, if at all, but it can be hard for others. To reduce the impact of not having a radar, players should use weapons like Telesto and Witherhoard for area damage, or Jotunn and Ticuu's Divination for tracking shots. Having more zones than the opposing team helps a lot, reducing the number of kills required.

Dredgin' Up Victory

This challenge is quite easy, and it only requires players to run a few Gambit matches, with wins speeding up the process. This can also be a good time to farm bounties for extra experience and artifact levels.

Challenger's Aspiration

For this challenge, players need to complete three weekly playlist activities. As such, it can be completed together with Dredgin' Up Victory if players go for Gambit first, which will also award Parallax Trajectory. Otherwise, Scorn Strikes or Nightfalls also help with the final challenge.

EDZ Patrol + Mid-Range Calibration

destny 2 seasonal challenges week 1 (8)

These two challenges are best combined, as the first demands players to run patrols, lost sectors, and public events in the EDZ, while the second to calibrate weapons in the same area. Those weapons are hand cannons, auto rifles, fusion rifles, and machine guns.

Because lost sectors and rapidly defeating opponents, respectively, give bonus progress, players should complete those with area weapons like Telesto or hand cannons with Dragonfly.

Scorn Pest Control

Lastly, the tenth challenge is to defeat Scorn enemies in Strikes. As such, the perfect place to do so is this week's Nightfall, The Hollowed Lair. Here, enemies are all Scorn, and there are a handful of powerful combatants to speed up the process. A few Nightfalls will do the trick.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
