On December 10th, Destiny 2's current Season of the Undying will come to an end as the ninth Season of Dawn will replace it. With just a few weeks left in the current season, there are a few things players will want to make sure they get done before the season switches over. Some content will no longer be available once Season 8 ends, so that adds some extra impetus to complete some tasks before they are no longer a part of the game.

Developer Bungie has made comments about how Destiny 2 cannot continue to grow infinitely forever, and that with its new model for Year 3 and its four seasons, there will indeed be some content and activities that appear as part of the season, then as the narrative of the season moves on, some of that content will end with new seasonal activities giving players something else to do in its place. For this season, that is true of the Vex Offensive activity.

With that in mind, much (but not all) of the things players should focus on in these last few weeks are tied to Vex Offensive.

The Undying Title

Players are only able to get the Undying title during Season of the Undying because many of the Triumphs associated with the title are connected to Vex Offensive and the Vex Invasion events on the Moon, which will also be going away with the end of the season.

Game Rant has an extensive guide about how to get the Undying title. There are easier triumphs to complete and then there are those that are more difficult and a long grind, so hopefully, at this point late in the season, players who want the title have already made some considerable progress towards earning it. As a special note, the Harbinger title associated with Shadowkeep will still be available to earn considering Shadowkeep is expansion content separate from seasonal content.

Iron Banner Armor Quests

destiny 2 iron will armor set

Iron Banner returned this season with a new seasonal armor set and a quest that players must complete to unlock the armor set. Despite disappointment expressed by many players that Iron Banner did not bring a new weapon set this season, the new armor set was the main pursuit of Iron Banner, as well as Enhanced mods that have a chance to drop from Iron Banner packages.

Bungie announced this week that a different Iron Banner armor set will be coming in Season of Dawn, so if players want the armor for any of their characters who have yet to complete the quest, they will want to do that next week during the final Iron Banner of the season. The Iron Banner quest is not particularly difficult, requiring completing matches, capturing zones, and getting kills with specific weapons, which can be completed in just a few hours on average.

Season Ranks

The new Battle-Pass-like Season Ranks will be going away at the end of the season as well, so players who have yet to reach rank 100 and earn all the gear on the Season Ranks grid should focus on doing that before the end of the season. For those wanting the most efficient way to gain XP and unlock ranks, farming bounties is the best way. Weekly bounties from the vendors grant the most XP, followed by daily bounties (including each planetary vendor's daily bounties, which is an oft-forgotten but very good source of XP), and then players can continue to farm XP at a slightly lower amount from picking up random additional bounties with those from Eris Morn and Ikora Rey being some of the most efficient ones to complete.

Vex Offensive Weapons

If there is a particular perk roll that players are looking for on the four Vex Offensive weapons, they will want to try to acquire it before Vex Offensive is removed at the end of the season. Bungie did say it would make seasonal items like the Vex Offensive weapons available again in the future, but it is unknown exactly how or when they will be able to be earned again.

There are some good Vex Offensive weapons, like the 180 RPM Optative hand cannon that can roll Outlaw/Rapid Hit and Kill Clip, the Subjunctive submachinegun that can get Outlaw and Swashbuckler/Multikill Clip that may be a really good option after the upcoming nerf to The Recluse, and a mixture of great PvE and PvP rolls for the pulse rifle Adhorative.

Pinnacle/Ritual Weapon Quests

The quests for pinnacle and this season's ritual weapons are not going away and will be able to be completed after this season; however, many of these quests require players to earn a certain rank in strikes, the Crucible, or Gambit, and that rank progress will be reset at the end of the season. So, if players are close to reaching Fabled or resetting their Infamy, they will want to reach whatever rank milestone they need to before season's end.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
