With every new Season, Destiny 2 usually brings with it a large host of new content. This ranges from new cutscenes, story set pieces, and new seasonal modes for players to enjoy. On top of such additions, Destiny 2 Seasons also add various new aptly-themed weapons and armor that are obtainable through its new modes and story missions. However, with a new Season usually come new Exotics, and while Season of The Seraph disappoints a little in that regard in terms of volume, these game-changing items players are given should excite the masses.

When new Exotics are introduced in Destiny 2, players can obtain powerful weapons and armor pieces that can significantly impact their gameplay experience. For many players, earning new Exotics is a key part of the game, as these items have some of the most robust build-defining perks available. For example, an Exotic weapon might have the ability to apply an elemental debuff on enemies after a certain amount of successful hits, or an Exotic armor piece may grant reduced cooldowns for all the abilities of a given subclass.

Destiny 2's The Manticore Creates a New Gameplay Niche

Most new Seasons in Destiny 2 usually arrive with at least one new Exotic piece of armor per class. Currently, Season of The Seraph has yet to introduce any Exotic pieces of armor despite some rumors that such armor may exist. What is included in the latest Season are two Exotic weapons, with Revision Zero being the third. When returning for a new Season, most new Exotic armors and weapons aren't the easiest to obtain. Thankfully, at least one Exotic gun is easy to earn for players launching the Season of The Seraph.

The first weapon most players will earn in Season of The Seraph is The Manticore, an SMG that goes in the Energy slot of a Guardian's loadout. What makes The Manticore so unique isn't just its 900 RPM rate of fire, but its unique perks that allow Guardians to remain in the air as long as they're hitting targets. The perk, Soaring Fang, charges Antigrav Repulsors while dealing damage, and dealing damage while airborne extends their duration. As such, this ability keeps Guardians airborne as they continually hit enemies. The other perk, Swooping Talons, nicely compliments Soaring Fang by increasing damage dealt while in the air. Ultimately, a fun Exotic for players leveling Destiny 2's Season Pass.

How Destiny 2's Hierarchy of Needs and Revision Zero Fare in Season of the Seraph

The following Exotic, a bow named Hierarchy of Needs, is not as easy to earn in Destiny 2. Found as a rare drop from the new Dungeon Spire of The Watcher, this bow is a bit less cut and dry compared to its Exotic SMG cousin. Like The Manticore, the Hierarchy of Needs is an Energy weapon. Its first unique perk, Guidance Ring, allows precision hits and final blows to build Guidance Ring energy. Then at full charge, hip firing creates a Guidance Ring. The second perk, Apollonic Tangent, releases seeking projectiles from arrows fired through the Guidance Ring once it's charged. These seeking projectiles deal more damage based on distance traveled.

The third Exotic in Season of the Seraph is called Revision Zero, and it's one of Destiny 2's alt-fire Exotic weapons. While this gun normally shoots and behaves like a pulse, Revision Zero is also a sniper rifle when activating its alternate fire mode. Revision Zero is also a rather unique pulse rifle due to it being able to shift from a 2-round burst to a 4-round burst and vice versa, making it much more versatile, especially considering it has four Exotic Catalysts to choose from. While the lack of Exotic armor for the Season stings a bit, these new weapons should be entertaining enough for Destiny 2's fans and players.

Destiny 2 is available now on Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
