Destiny 2 has introduced Guardians to its new seasonal content with the newly released Season of the Splicer, which brings a lot of original stuff to the table for fans of the Destiny saga, as well as some returning content. Ever since Destiny 2's Beyond Light expansion, it was clear that the game had changed forever, while also still retaining its own unique identity thanks in part to the secret missions it has. It was back in July 2018 that the first secret exotic quest ever dropped for Destiny 2, and it was fittingly the one for the Whisper of the Worm.

After that, this trend has continued for Destiny 2, with other mysterious things happening in the game that were meant for players to discover on their own. The second secret exotic quest in Destiny 2 was that for Outbreak Perfected, and the mission itself was called Zero Hour, which entailed an encounter with a Guardian-eating robot that was worthy of the best horror games. Another such mission came with the Season of the Chosen, when Bungie opened up a door in the strike called The Arms Dealer. Following the path from that door led to a container with an item inside it, called Intercepted Distress Signal, which started the exotic quest to obtain the Dead Man's Tale scout rifle. Now, it seems more secrets await players on the Tangled Shore.

New Vex Secrets On The Tangled Shore In Destiny 2's Season Of The Splicer

disabled bug may 2021

As it turns out, Season of the Splicer introduced two new secret Vex structures that can be discovered on the Tangled Shore, one at the end of the Kingship Dock Lost Sector, and one out in the open in the Jetsam of Saturn area. The first one appears only after triggering a few things at the end of the Lost Sector, as it is required to kill the boss of Kingship Dock to spawn five oracles in the sky right behind the end of the arena, which, if destroyed, spawn a powerful Minotaur. Killing the Minotaur eventually spawns the Vex structure, which is familiar in shape and looks like many others previously seen in Destiny 2, but Guardians cannot interact with it. The same holds true for the one in the Jetsam of Saturn.

With Season of the Splicer revolving around the Vex and how they plunged Destiny 2's Last City into an endless night, it's not impossible that these constructions will be tied to a new secret quest, or at least to a quest for either the returning Vex Mythoclast or its catalyst, at least. In fact, the beloved fusion rifle is confirmed to come back to Destiny 2 with Vault of Glass in a few days. It's not unlikely that this speculation will turn out to be correct, though, because a whole new secret mission wouldn't probably be discovered so easily and introduced prior to actually being accessible, too.

It is unclear at this point whether these constructions will bear any significance to Destiny 2's story in the Season of the Splicer, but they could indeed be part of this Season's narrative. After all, Mithrax is sending Guardians to get Vex data, and these structures do look like ones that could be storing information. Only time will tell what happens with them, but here's hoping that these Vex secrets will be the key to embarking on another mission like The Whisper, Zero Hour, or Presage.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
