Destiny 2 Season 14 has finally been revealed. After a leak indicated that Season 14 would be called Season of the Splicer, Bungie itself has pulled the curtain back on the new season, confirming the Season of the Splicer title and revealing exactly what fans can expect when it goes live next Tuesday, May 11. As it turns out, there's quite a bit for Destiny 2 fans to look forward to, including a new storyline with the Vex.

In Destiny 2's Season of the Splicer, the Vex are the main threat that the Guardians will have to contend with. The Vex have managed to plunge the Earth, and therefore the Last City, into an "endless night." Ikora suggests teaming with Mithrax, a Splicer, to fight back against the Vex and free the Last City from its endless night. As was the case with Season of the Chosen, fans can expect the storyline to progress from week to week.

A variety of activities this season will revolve around this new storyline with the Vex, including the 6-player matchmade activity called Override. There will also be a weekly mission called Expunge that Destiny 2 players will need to complete if they hope to successfully fight back the Vex threat.

Bungie has released a new trailer for Season of the Splicer that sets up this story and explains these new activities to players. It also highlights some of the other content that Destiny 2 fans can look forward to in Season of the Splicer. For instance, Destiny 2 fans can look forward to the Armor Synthesis system to make its way into the game, though it seems many fans aren't satisfied with the way Bungie is implementing it.

Fans can also look forward to the long-awaited return of the Vault of Glass raid. The Vault of Glass raid was featured in the original Destiny, but it's making its way to Destiny 2 with some tweaks to make it just as challenging as fans remember it. All Destiny 2 players, regardless of if they purchase the Season of the Splicer Season Pass or not, will be able to play the Vault of Glass raid when it comes to the game on May 22.

Destiny 2's Season of the Splicer will take place from Tuesday, May 11 until Tuesday, August 24. It will feature numerous Override variants for players to complete, new Seasonal Challenges to complete each week, plenty of rewards to unlock, and much more. Needless to say, the Season of the Splicer should keep Destiny 2 fans plenty busy this summer.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
