Destiny 2 has reached a healthy status quo with its seasonal model, and the last few Seasons all offer solid storytelling and added content to play. Each Season has its own Artifact that can provide up to 12 mods chosen by the players from a wide selection, and the current Season of the Splicer granted access to some crazy ones. In particular, the best ones are two very powerful mods found in the last tier of the Paradrome Cube: Breach and Clear, and Energy Accelerant.

Both of these mods have shaped the present meta for Destiny 2's endgame content in different ways, and in general they made the Season a fun one to delve into. Breach and Clear is a class item mod that reloads the players' stowed weapons, and applies a detrimental effect on bosses and Champions when hitting them with a grenade launcher - increasing damage inflicted against them by a whopping 30 percent. Energy Accelerant is also a class item mod, meaning that both can't be used together because they cost nine and two Energy respectively. Regardless, Energy Accelerant has a few great combos to try out that make it a fantastic mod on many different builds.

Why Breach and Clear, Energy Accelerant are Great Mods

season of the splicer vex seasonal artifact

Breach and Clear is arguably one of the best mods to use in endgame PvE content in Destiny 2, and especially so if combined with very powerful grenade launchers like Witherhoard and Anarchy. The former is a great Exotic grenade launcher to use both for single-target DPS and clearing adds when larger groups of weaker enemies are present. It also can inflict the Breach and Clear debuff on bosses. Anarchy is even better, considering it was and still is one of the best single-target DPS options in the game, and players should try and capitalize on that because Anarchy is getting a nerf when Season 15 launches.

Breach and Clear is one of the most powerful seasonal mods to date, akin to things like Oppressive Darkness from the Season of the Undying, and it deserves a spot in the current meta. This mod is especially useful in Raids and Grandmaster Nightfalls, but it also shines in solo play activities like the Prophecy Dungeon and both Master and Legend Lost Sectors. The debuff is very potent, and it makes using a grenade launcher almost mandatory because of how good it is, and it also pairs well with non-Exotic guns like the new Ignition Code and Berenger's Memory.

Energy Accelerant is another great addition to Destiny 2's arsenal of mods, and what it does is increase damage dealt with Dragonfly, Chain Reaction, and Firefly explosions. However, that's not all Energy Accelerant does, and in fact it pairs well with the returning Titan-exclusive sword called Crown-Splitter because of its charged slam. This made several Titan mains in Destiny 2 very happy, as Energy Accelerant combined with the legendary sword is capable of melting Champions and smaller bosses in a matter of seconds.

Another nice combo is with Ruinous Effigy, which is a trace rifle that creates Void spheres when it kills enemies. These spheres can then be grabbed, carried, and slammed onto other enemies, which will also receive more damage from it if the Exotic gun is used in conjunction with Energy Accelerant. Of course, it also works wonders with guns like Ace of Spades, Hung Jury (with Firefly), and Fatebringer (with Firefly), making for a fun mod to use until the end of this Season. Here's hoping Bungie will introduce even more great mods with its next Season, even if some of them may seem game-breaking at times.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
