Destiny 2 provides new content for players to enjoy in the first-person shooter every season. Each season explores a different part of the Destiny story that all comes together to keep players intrigued. During season 21 of the game since its original release back in 2017, players are now returning to Titan to find more answers about the current threat known as The Witness.
Season of the Deep has plenty of new activities for Guardians to get involved in, as well as various other goals players should pursue during this season that will last until August. With quite some time until the next season, these are some things players should consider getting stuck into with Season of the Deep.
8 Finish Threader Bounties
Something that players can complete each season are the Threader bounties provided by Ada-1 in the Tower. Players that believe completing missions of the game should be done in style may find these bounties from Ada important, as completing these unlock the currency needed to change the appearance of armor pieces to look like another.
With Season of the Deep providing a new armor set and an ornament set, players may be in need of more threader currency to make this a permanent look on their Guardian. Players can only complete 10 Threader bounties a season, and therefore they should be cautious about what they are purchasing, especially early into the Season of the Deep.
7 Make Sure To Complete The Weekly Missions
Some things remain the same across each season of Destiny 2, as another activity many players will continue to take part in during season 21 is completing their weekly challenges.
It's not only crucial to complete these weekly challenges for the experience and bright dust bonus it will give players for completing the challenge of the first week of the season. It can also reward the player with some powerful gear that increases the player's light level, so they can take on more challenging activities. Those who have yet to hit the Pinnacle level can do so this season, as Bungie has no increased it for Season of the Deep.
6 Level Up The New Season Pass
Like with every new season of Destiny 2, Season of the Deep is no different as it provides a season pass that comes with a hundred ranks to level up in. There is both the free and paid-for version of this season pass, though as usual players that have purchased the pass will be able to get even better rewards.
Besides the usual glimmer, bright dust, and other resources, players can also earn experience boosters, a new Ghost shell, better armor, and much more. As long as the player continues to level up the season pass, they are sure to find something useful within.
5 Take On The New Dungeon
While not entirely a part of the Season of the Deep, dropping this season for two-thousand silver is the newest dungeon for players to take on in a fireteam of three. Similar to the dungeon key that dropped during the Witch Queen DLC, players will have access to two dungeons, the first of these becoming available to players on the 26th.
Ghosts of the Deep works similar to a raid in Destiny, though it is completed with a smaller fireteam. Successfully finishing this dungeon will provide players with a new armor set for each class and various weapons, as well as an Exotic reward at the end. The dungeon also comes with its own go-to seal, with Triumphs that increase the Exotic drop chance.
4 Learn More About The Veil
Last season many players had complaints about the recent expansion, Lightfall. Although it was a race against time to reach the Veil, many players felt they were left confused and with many questions as the Veil was never explained. Starting this season, those that purchased the Lightfall expansion are finally getting their answers.
Approaching Nimbus in Neomuna will begin a new set of quests that hope to explain what the Veil is to players, as well as reward them with a new gun and even more Aspects for the new Strand subclass.
3 Relax While Going Fishing
Season of the Deep has done something different in Destiny 2. It has kept with the nautical theme that has been seen throughout many of the other activities involved in this newest season of the game.
Players are now able to go fishing at various locations in Destiny 2 where they can collect fish that they can then display in the aquarium that has been recently installed on the H.E.L.M. Each week, a new pond will provide better quality fish as well as a chance to catch an exotic one. Donating these fish to the aquarium will also reward the player with experience, gear, and weapons.
2 See How Far A Player Can Go With Deep Dive
One of the activities available to players during this season is called Deep Dive. This activity works like a roguelike where players can choose a buff before taking part in an encounter that will have them facing off against groups of enemies, as they attempt to earn better tiers of chests.
As the weeks of the season progress onwards, players will be able to dive even deeper during this Season of the Deep activity. There will be various encounters at each level that should hopefully become far more difficult the further Guardians descend.
1 Join A Team of Six In Salvage Missions
Finally, players are also able to get involved in a much larger activity with a fireteam of six that can also be found with matchmaking. In Salvage, players must work together to defend their latest find on Titan from thieving enemies.
Players will have to complete various jobs during this activity, all while making sure the timer doesn't reach zero if they hope to avoid Xivu Arath's attention. At the end, players are expected to take on a large boss together which feels similar to a raid. Once again players will be rewarded with various bits of gear and weapons for completing the event.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
