Throughout the last few seasons, several “best weapon loadouts” have emerged in Destiny 2 that favor a variety of playstyles. For Season of Dawn, a new fun loadout has emerged that will allow players to deal solid damage, clear enemies, and rarely worry about reloading.

This latest Destiny 2 build comes courtesy of Ehroar, a content creator who focuses on damage numbers and synergy between perks. He has found a Destiny 2 build that, while a little odd at first glance, can actually be very useful in most PvE activities.

The key weapon components of this new Destiny 2 build are the Perfect Paradox shotgun and the Loaded Question fusion rifle. These two weapons combined with a few mods that use the Charged with Light mechanic can give players seemingly endless ammo and high damage.

For mods, there are a few that players will want to collect from the various Obelisks added to Destiny 2 with Season of Dawn:

  • Heavy Handed – this mod grants ammo to players’ reserves anytime they get a kill with Loaded Question or Perfect Paradox.
  • Quick Charge – Become charged with Light by rapidly defeating multiple enemies with fusion rifles or shotguns.
  • Stacks on Stacks – gain an extra stack of Charged with Light for every stack the player gains.
  • High-Energy Fire – Gain a bonus to weapon damage while Charged with Light.

With all of these mods working together, Destiny 2 players are able to build up stacks of Charged with Light for every two kills, consume them to deal higher damage per shot, and then build those stacks right back up with those kills. It’s a loop that will allow Destiny 2 players to shred through basic enemies and most majors with minimal effort.

When Bungie first introduced the Charged with Light mechanic it didn’t seem like it was going to make much of an impact on Destiny 2 PvE builds. However, as players have begun to find ways to synergize the new mods, these types of builds have appeared.

Obviously, if players are looking to take on endgame-level challenges like the a 980 Nightfall Ordeal or the Garden of Salvation raid, these builds might not be as useful. But when running through basic strikes, Gambit, or just farming materials for the Dawning event, they should break up the monotony.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
