Destiny 2 players are just weeks away from the end of the current Season 5 and the beginning of Season of the Drifter. Before that date, there are a number of things for players to check off their to-do lists before Season of the Forge ends and Season 6 begins.

Bounties

In an attempt to keep players from hoarding bounties in order to get a leg up in the grind to a new power level cap, Destiny 2 has put a level cap on all bounty rewards with the start of Season 6. Any bounties players are currently holding onto will be locked in to giving rewards at or under the current 650 power level cap. In some cases, the bounties will even be completely removed from players' inventories.

Developer Bungie also warned that hoarding bounties, even if incomplete, could prevent players from picking up the same bounty the first week of Season 6 (those new bounties would not be locked to 650). So before the new season, it is best that players claim any completed bounties and discard incomplete ones.

Iron Banner

Iron Banner returns this week for the last time in Season of the Forge. While it will continue on into Season of the Drifter, this is the last time the Iron Fellowship armor sets will be available. The Year 2 Iron Banner weapons will still continue to be offered in Season 6. Players should claim completed Iron Banner bounties as they will be removed after Season 5; however, players will retain any Iron Banner tokens they may have.

Crucible Pinnacle Weapon Quests

A number of Destiny 2's pinnacle weapons involve a step within their quest chain that requires players to reach a certain rank within the Crucible in a single season. If players are in the middle of that step of the quest or are close to progressing to a new rank that will count retroactively once that quest step is reached, players should be sure to finish it before the end of Season 5. While the quests for these weapons (Luna's Howl, Not Forgotten, The Mountaintop) will continue on into Season 6, any rank progress will be reset with the turnover to Season 6.

Triumphs

There are a number of Triumphs that are tied to Season 5, such as reaching a certain rank in the Crucible or with the Vanguard. There are also Triumphs for completing certain tasks within Gambit and turning in packages for Iron Banner. Once Season 5 is over, these Triumphs will be removed from the game, so any completionists will want to focus on earning those specifically tied to the current season.

Destiny 2 players have until the reset on March 5 to get these tasks done, which gives players only two weeks.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
