Destiny 2 is about to enter Season 14: Season of the Splicer and a calendar and roadmap were recently confirmed including the official start and end dates for the new season.

Destiny 2 Season 14 officially kicks off on Tuesday, May 11, and it runs until Tuesday, August 24, giving Bungie fans over three months to delve into the new content introduced with the Season of the Splicer. Season 14 will run through most of the Summer and it will celebrate the solstice with the Solstice of Heroes event.

Destiny 2 fans recently got a glimpse into what to expect from Season 14 with a new trailer and they have less than a week to wait to explore all of the changes coming with the new season. Like many other live service games, Destiny 2 receives a weekly reset, and Season 14 launches after next week's reset on May 11th.

Previous seasons of Destiny 2 have launched after morning maintenance at 8:00 AM PST, which also shuts down companion app features as changes are made. Guardians are typically taken offline around 8:45 AM PST with the Destiny 2 update entering the download queue at 9:00 AM PST. The morning Destiny 2 updates that usher in new seasons usually get Guardians into the action by the afternoon, typically earlier depending on the update's file size. Similar to the 9:00 AM PST updates on season launches, Bungie will end Destiny 2 Season 14 on August 24th at around the same time as well.

Destiny 2 Season 13: Season of the Chosen brought Guardians to Battlegrounds full of Caiatl’s chosen warriors, but the season will come to a close on May 11th as Season 14 is ushered in. Guardians will have until that date to complete whatever Season of the Chosen activities are still left, leaving only a few days to acquire exotics and gear tied to the current season.

The Destiny 2 Season 14: Season of the Splicer trailer showed off new gear, exotics, the first Override activity on Europa, and a stronger, more threatening Vex. Override, for the uninitiated, will bring six players together to defeat droves of Vex in an effort to breach the network and reclaim Europa.

Destiny 2 Season 14: Season of the Splicer releases with an introductory mission that reveals how the Vex have plunged the Earth into an endless night. Among several other activities, Guardians will move from Europa's Override to one on the Moon with the Iron Banner on May 18th, while the Vault of Glass raid returns on May 22nd. New Pinnacle Missions will be added throughout the Summer and Guardians will be able to obtain new exotics and gear as a result.

Destiny 2 is available right now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
