Destiny 2 is about to enter Season 13 and there are a lot of anticipated features coming players' way. Beyond Light left a lot to be desired for a good portion of the playerbase, and Bungie aims to amend the game's shortcomings throughout Year 4. One promised feature, new Trials of Osiris armor, was just teased today, giving players a glimpse of the new gear they'll be chasing in just two weeks.

Trials of Osiris launched last spring in Destiny 2, a returning Crucible mode from the first game. Controversially, it initially featured gear that veterans had earned in Destiny 1. Even though these weapons and armor were iconic, players still rightfully wanted new loot. With Season 13, Bungie is refreshing the armor sets available through Trials of Osiris, and plans to do so every year.

Shared via the Destiny 2 Twitter account, the images depict all three Guardian types (Titan, Hunter, and Warlock) in new Trials of Osiris garments. The renders are admittedly very elegant and highlight the beauty of the armor sets. However, the Guardians are only seen from the chest upwards, so the full view of the new Trials gear is still a mystery.

This new armor set will replace the original one, which was going to get outdated in a couple of seasons regardless due to sunsetting. The new gear will presumably be earned via the usual methods unless Bungie has plans to evolve the Trials reward system in the near future. The primary sources of Trials loot are the weekly 3, 5, and 7 win milestones, the weekly Trials engram (which players can earn without even winning a single match), the Flawless chest, and cashing in extra tokens to Saint-14.

Every week, a random assortment of armor pieces and guns are offered in Trials so it might be a while until any player has collected the full set. Regarding story implications, the visuals of this gear set seems very regal, ceremonial, and Cabal-related to many keen-eyed fans. There are strong indications that the Cabal will be a major focus in Season 13, so this is no surprise.

Regardless, this isn't the only loot refresh coming in the next season. The ritual activities (Crucible, Strikes, and Gambit) will be injected with 6 new weapons, and the Nightfall will get 3 extra weapons as potential rewards. These are on top of the seasonal content including the new activity and season pass gear, and the seasonal pursuit weapon.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
