Destiny 2 is entering Season 13 soon which will bring lots of new features for the players. Even though most of Season of the Hunt's content will stay in the game, Season of the Chosen will continue to populate the game's world. One such addition is a new social space called the H.E.L.M.

In this season of Destiny 2, the Cabal will make a resurgence after their complete defeat last June. Caiatl, the daughter of the now missing emperor Calus, has made an appearance in the system, offering a powerful alliance but also testing humanity's might. Players will have to push back her forces and prove that humanity cannot be assimilated.

These operations will be done through the Hub for Emergency Logistics and Maneuvers, or the H.E.L.M., a new area the Vanguard has set up to stage any and all operations. While a spaceport, this hall still has full view of the City and could potentially be linked to the Tower. Zavala will be stationed in the H.E.L.M. at least for the duration of Season 13, helping players in the defense against the Cabal.

season of the chosen 13

At the core of the H.E.L.M. is the War Table which will house the Hammer of Proving, Season 13's bespoke progression and loot system. It will be upgraded via three tiers of pursuits, and reward players with resources, gear, and the ability to improve and customize their experience while playing Season 13's new activity, Battlegrounds. While Zavala will assist players throughout Season 13, the War Table will act as the seasonal vendor.

However, that's not all the H.E.L.M. will harbor. This new social space will have its own Postmaster and Vault, letting players organize their inventories in-game, without any travel. The new Prismatic Recaster and Umbral Decoder will also be situated inside the H.E.L.M. The former will let players specify the items they want from their Umbral Engrams while the latter will open them. For those who don't know, Umbral Engrams are essentially legendary engrams with more player agency and will stay in the game indefinitely this time around.

While two Destiny 1 expansions added new social hubs to the game, the H.E.L.M. is the first proper new social hub Destiny 2 has ever gotten. And since it houses permanent features such as the Postmaster, Vault, and Umbral Engram stations, it is safe to assume that this space will stay in the game, perhaps even evolving season after season.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
