This weekend, Destiny 2 launched its second proper raid and before too long players began to explore its secrets. At launch, Scourge of the Past raiders were mostly focused on claiming the title of World’s First, but now that Tier 1 has nabbed the achievement players are focused on exploration.

As with any Destiny 2 raid, there is at least one hidden chest in Scourge of the Past and players have already found it. To access it will require a little bit of planning and maybe even some luck, but it’s hard to pass up some extra raid loot.

The first hidden chest in the Scourge of the Past raid can be found during the sparrow chase section, in which a flaming Servitor pursues the whole team through a series of tunnels. This type of raid encounter is something Destiny fans have been asking of Bungie for quite some time and finally the developer granted their wish.

While the focus of the encounter is speed, players will want to keep an eye out for 8 buttons that are scattered throughout the raid’s track. Someone will need to hit all 8 of these buttons in order to unlock access to the chest. And since only two players need to make it to the end of the encounter, some sacrifices may be necessary.

Since the track doesn’t have many clear indicators and the Scourge of the Past raid is relatively new, it’s best to show the button locations in video form:

Normally, the goal of the sparrow chase section is to go through the tunnels and have at least two players make it to the safe room where they melee the locks and the door closes. However, once all 8 buttons have been hit, a new path opens past the safe room where players continue on before they need to jump off their sparrow and ascend. After a few jumps there will be a cave-like area with a chest where players can claim their Destiny 2 raid loot.

It’s important to note that this loot is not powerful gear so it won’t help players reach the Black Armory power level cap. Still, for collectors out there a chance at more raid loot will be worth the effort.

Destiny 2: Black Armory is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
