Today, Bungie officially launched the raid for Destiny 2's Black Armory DLC, with the endgame activity dubbed "Scourge of the Past" taking Guardians back to the Old City to face a long forgotten secret buried deep beneath the area. Prior to the raid, many fans had been wondering exactly how large and challenging it would be, and now that the World First winners have been confirmed, those who have yet to take on the task can get a better idea of what they're in for.

As seen in the tweet below from Bungie, the World First team to complete Destiny 2's Scourge of the Past raid is comprised mainly of the Tier1 clan Gigz, RioT, gamesager, Vendetta, Icecide, and Lunar. There's no word just yet on exactly how long it took the team to beat the raid, but considering that it went live at 9:00 AM PST, there's a good chance they all started playing as soon as Bungie made the activity available. Should this be the case, then it would have taken them around two hours to beat it.

For those unaware, the previous raid released for Destiny 2–that is, Last Wish–required a lot more time and dedication out of those who decided to put themselves in the race for World First. Clan Redeem was eventually victorious, but their success came at the cost of sinking in roughly 18 hours to claim the title. With this being the case, it looks as if Scourge of the Past is far from being as demanding as Last Wish had been.

Taking all of this into consideration, it's great to see Tier1 and the Destiny 2 community as a whole continue to come together to make the science fiction shooter's raid releases a highly anticipated event in order to find out who can best the endgame activity first. While not everyone who beats Scourge of the Past will get a championship belt as a reward, there's no doubt that the lack of a physical trophy won't deter other Guardians from giving it all they've got when they carve out time in their schedules to become legend themselves.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
