Destiny 2 Easter Egg May Feature Famous Guardian

It's a big week for Destiny 2 fans as Bungie has released the Curse of Osiris expansion, which also kicks off season 2. As Bungie is known to do with its games, players have started coming across secrets and hidden Easter Eggs within the new Osiris content in Destiny 2. The latest one involves a certain famous character from Destiny lore, which some players might regard as spoilers. Reader beware.

Over on Reddit, user _Wolvhammer_ and a buddy were tackling the new Up and Up adventure in the Curse of Osiris expansion for Destiny 2. At one point in the mission, they came across a huge Vex door, with a visible hole in it. Curious, Wolvhammer took out a sniper rifle and peered in, only to discover a body floating in the center of the room with purple ribbons gently floating off its body. The ribbons reminded Wolvhammer of Saint-14's exotic ship, which also features lore that places the lost Titan on Mercury. Putting two and two together, a new theory has developed that the strange floating body is indeed the legendary Saint-14.

Not everyone appears to be sold on the identity of this new floating body theory, however. As some Reddit users responded, the character battled with the Vex on Mercury for what appears to be centuries, the robotic enemies eventually found a way to completely drain Saint-14 of his light, leaving him vulnerable to death. The floating body could, therefore, be the remains of the legendary Titan, or perhaps someone else completely. Many have continued to speculate that this room could be used for something else with Destiny 2 down the road.

According to Destiny lore, Saint-14 was an Exo Titan, known for his exploits during the Battle of Twilight Gap and headbutting a Fallen Kell to death. The Exo also helped recommend Osiris to the post of Vanguard Commander, though he was also the one The Speaker sent to Mercury to stop him there as well. While the game never really confirms the ultimate fate of the character, lore from weapons like the Perfect Paradox or his ship the Grey Pigeon heavily imply that the character never found Osiris and ultimately died on Mercury. Until Bungie confirms it either way, fans continue to hold out hope that Saint-14 will make it into the game in some capacity at some point.

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
