Bungie has revealed the exclusive jacket available only for Destiny 2 Lightfall players that complete the upcoming Root of Nightmares raid. There's a long history of Bungie offering exclusive rewards to its most determined and capable Destiny 2 raiders. Lightfall's first raid continues that tradition. Those who complete the Root of Nightmares raid in its first two weeks of availability will have the option to purchase Bungie's exclusive jacket, but if they choose not to, there will still be other Destiny 2 rewards, too.Root of Nightmares is lining up to be an especially exciting raid release, even considering the many exciting Destiny 2 raids previously released. It's not just that Root of Nightmares appears to touch on content related both to the Traveler and the Witness, either. It's that Bungie has tuned up Destiny 2's difficulty with the release of the Lightfall expansion. Root of Nightmares could be significantly more difficult than other Destiny 2 raids, as a result.RELATED: Destiny 2 Servers Are Going Offline TodayWith the increased difficulty in Lightfall, the Root of Nightmares raid jacket could be even more exclusive than previous Destiny 2 raid rewards. Root of Nightmares will officially launch on March 10 at 9:00 AM PT. All players that complete the raid before March 21 will have their account flagged as having access to the exclusive Root of Nightmares raid jacket, available on the Bungie Store.

The jacket itself is a premium product, from top to bottom. It's a cotton jacket with polyester twill lining and light polyester padding. Each arm features double molle straps, there are fireteam, sull, and raid patches on the chest and both arms, and an embroidered Destiny 2 logo on the back of the jacket. There will also be a custom patch with each Destiny 2 player's game tag above the chest pocket. The price tag matches the jacket's quality, though. It'll cost Destiny 2 raiders a healthy $150.

For those who don't want to drop $150 on a jacket, Bungie has some other rewards available exclusively for raiders. There's a $20 Root of Nightmares raid pin, available to everyone that completes the raid even after March 21, and a Dream Warrior pin for completing all raid Triumphs, which will cost $23. In other words, players don't have to drop $150 to celebrate their Root of Nightmares victories.

While most Destiny 2 players will never pick up this $150 jacket, it's still a very cool thing to see Bungie doing. It's a way of celebrating the content that Bungie releases, the way the Destiny 2 community builds itself up for content, and a reward for the game's most dedicated playerbase. Root of Nightmares opens March 10 at 9:00 AM PT.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
