Tomorrow is a big day for Destiny 2 fans as it marks the release of the Curse of Osiris expansion which brings a new storyline to play through, adds new content to the game, as well as new loot for players to acquire. In addition, December 5 also marks the start of season 2 bringing with it major events like The Dawning as well as bringing many of Bungie's planned fixed for a number of lingering issues. Included in the long list of gameplay changes is a fix for an issue with Leviathan Raid keys.

Since Destiny 2 launched, players have seen a number of issues surrounding Leviathan Raid keys which saw the items disappearing randomly at times. The issue has become more widespread since the Leviathan Raid's launch, causing Bungie to temporarily disable the code forcing the items to disappear each week to prevent further issues. It appears the problem is finally at an end however as Update 1.1.0 offers a permanent solution to this bug when it becomes available alongside Curse of Osiris on December 5.

This issue has been a thorn in the developer's side for quite a while, even believing the issue to have been fixed as part of update 1.05. The keys themselves were originally intended to be removed at each weekly reset, keeping player progress confined to each particular week. Unfortunately, the bug removed any earned Leviathan keys before each reset if the player created a new character or switched to an alternate character that had not logged in since the last weekly reset.

In addition to keys, fans have been fairly disappointed with the in-game economy and its overreliance on reputation tokens above everything else. With the December updates, Bungie is working to not only give players more ways to use those tokens on guaranteed loot but also provide more ways to use other currency like Legendary Shards. Vendors at the Tower and elsewhere will now have inventory items that players can purchase, or in the case of Xur, offer new engrams once per week that guarantees an exotic item the player doesn't have. All in all, Destiny 2 appears to be taking steps in the right direction after the December update.

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris releases December 5, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
