Destiny 2 is still releasing new PVE content with two more expansions planned in the future. Bungie is constantly adding new campaign missions, raids, and events to the game. Despite how fixated the community is on Trials, there is still a wealth of PVE content to explore.

Even PVP players need a break from the competitive side of the game every now and then. Beginners and PVP mains will try their luck in difficult PVE modes eventually to unlock weapons and gear. Inexperienced PVE players will often make the following mistakes when they do.

10 The Dropship

Destiny 2 Beyond Light Pyramid Ships

Sometimes the dropships will just, well, drop. It has been one of the bugs in Destiny 2 PVE for some time. Out of nowhere, the massive ship will be pulled down with the gravity of a black hole. Gamers that see weird things going on with one of the ships need to seek cover because they will spontaneously phase through the map.

9 The Untimely Jump

Jumping at the wrong time can have devastating consequences in PVE, especially when players are fighting bosses and majors. Many of the high-level enemies in Destiny can propel players into the stratosphere if they jump at the wrong time. This is quite common against bosses with a stomp or slam attack. There is no recovery from this mistake.

8 The Trick Wall

Bungie added a number of trap doors and expanding walls to challenge players in PVE. Guardians that are not paying attention will be thrust off the map by these clever elements. Players that see one obstacle should assume that there are more ahead. Guardians need to keep their eyes peeled for these contraptions.

7 Unnecessary Finish

Whether intentional or accidental, all guardians have been killed while attempting a finishing move. It seems like every game has finishing moves these days, and more often than not it will put players in bad positions. Once the finishing move is activated, it takes several seconds to complete.

Meanwhile, adds and majors will still be able to damage the player stuck in the animation. Pro-tip: players should just not use them. Getting one cool kill is not worth erasing all of the progress made in a raid.

6 Caballed Out

Getting killed by one of the add spawn balls has to be one of the worst mistakes PVE players make. Lingering in an area where adds automatically spawn is a risky gamble. If the spawn bubble is too close, Guardians will automatically die. After more than four years, gamers still make this unfortunate mistake.

5 Leeroy Jenkins

Every fireteam has one trickster that will decide to sabotage the team. Never trust the Leeroy in the squad. The timeless sleeping and agro play can happen in Destiny too. Always be the last to pass through enemies that are either sleeping or looking away. It is satisfying to watch the actions of a saboteur backfire.

4 Super Saiyan

Nothing is more embarrassing than wasting a super and being launched into oblivion. Gamers need to be careful when using melee supers, as the aim lock can pull them over, under, through, and around enemies. Once the character's momentum is heading off of the map, it is too late.

A good way to prevent this is to use supers away from cliffs and ledges, as taking an accidental leap of faith happens more often than most players might think. Guardians that are using the titan arc super need to stop it and get some help.

3 Lift Malfunctions

The lifts in Destiny 2 can be incredibly frustrating to use. Sometimes they are just circles and bait players into walking through them. Most commonly, they will shoot players into walls and disable their double jumps. Gamers need to be hyper-aware when using any of the lifts in PVE. It is only a matter of time before guardians are killed by the temperamental machines.

2 Missing In Action

Finding players to complete missions and raids with is difficult, especially when you do not know them personally. It always seems like the best time to take a break or get something to eat is during a raid or timed mission. Gamers should build up some trust before wasting their time trying to solo nightfall on the highest difficulty. Healers are notorious for being AFK at the most crucial times.

1 The AI Protector

Fellow guardians always seem to find a way to get right in the sightlines of other players during a boss fight, blocking all fire in the process. These individuals think they are bodyguards, but in reality, they make fighting bosses impossible. The maps in Destiny 2 are huge, there is plenty of room for four players in a Fireteam. While this may appear to be a minor inconvenience, it is the principle that counts.
