The new Eater of Worlds raid lair in Destiny 2 has only been out for a few days and already players are trying new ways to circumvent the base requirements for each encounter. Just this week, less than two days after the release of Curse of Osiris’ new endgame activity, a fireteam of only three people was able to beat the final boss fight with Argos.

While some fireteams are still figuring out how best to beat Argos with a full group of 6 players, these elite Destiny 2 PvE players are putting everyone else to shame. This isn’t the first time members of Clan Redeem have shown off their skills in the PvE arenas and it is unlikely to be the last. As one of the members of the team points out, it is only a matter of time before there is a 2-man completion of the Argos boss fight, but it will require a lot of coordination and luck.

Most surprising about this 3-man run for Argos is that the fireteam only used one damage phase per rotation. Other fireteams that have attempted and succeed in a 3-man run used a more complex strategy to get two opportunities to do damage but this team played everything straightforward. Granted this team meant to do two sets of damage phases per rotation, but a mistake or miscommunication in each rotation forced them to abandon that plan.

Based on successful runs, it seems that the key to accomplishing the 3-man Argos boss fight is to have a Gunslinger Hunter with the Celestial Nighthawk equipped. The other two teammates focus on making as many orbs for the Hunter as possible, and a Titan’s Rally Barricade helps for firing rockets as quickly as possible. Outside of that, the strategy is fairly straightforward, but there is still a lot of luck involved.

The fact that this 3-player fireteam was able to beat the Argos boss fight without is impressive in and of itself but to do so without those extra damage phases shows just how skilled these three are. But as we mentioned, the 2-man run is coming, it’s just a matter of time.

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
