With Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, Bungie has begun the process of adding more RPG elements into the shooter. One way they have achieved this is through the Armor 2.0 system and Seasonal Artifact, items which allow players to really customize their character. These changes have allowed players to experiment with certain builds and even discovering some super powerful strategies that were previously impossible to pull off.

One such method was put to the test by the YouTuber Gladd, who took his fireteam into Destiny 2's raid lair, Eater of Worlds. The boss of this mission, the Vex Hydra named Argos, is fully encased in a barrier which forces players to work around the level to bring it down so they can shoot at it. Typically, players need to work together to utilize three different furnaces to charge items corresponding to the three different elements before mines can detonate.

However, in the new Season of the Undying, the seasonal artifact gives players access to some seriously powerful mods including one which empowers guns with Anti-Barrier rounds. Instead of running the traditional first Argos phase, the team uses the anti-barrier rounds to directly damage Argos while it's shielded.

While Vex enemies continue to spawn, the team works with a Ward of Dawn with weapons of light enabled, finishers that spawn special ammo for Eriana's Vow exotic hand cannon, and healing rift Warlocks. The process makes the fight much easier than intended as the team is able to wipe a third of its health before the shield drops and the DPS phase of the fight begins. Ultimately, the process is repeated until the Vex Hydra goes down while the normal mechanics of this fight are largely ignored.

So far, this is just one of many new builds that players have been able to experiment with. What makes these builds different from other overly powerful ones like the Arcstrider Liar's Handshake Melee build from earlier this year is that many of these are only around temporarily. Each season introduces new mods and a seasonal artifact, letting players experiment with new stuff every few months.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
