There are a number of changes coming in Destiny 2 with the start of Season of Dawn on December 10, including major changes to some of the game's solar subclasses. Developer Bungie just detailed more changes that will affect how players will interact with the ongoing parts of the game, such as rewards, bounties, earning XP, Xur's exotic engrams, and more.

First off, as promised, Bungie is increasing the drop rate of the Anarchy grenade launcher, the raid exotic that players can earn randomly from the last chest after completing the Scourge of the Past raid. There are stories of players still unable to find Anarchy despite dozens of clears almost a year after the raid's release. The drop rate is going from 5% to 10%.

The way the exotic engram that Destiny 2's weekly vendor Xur brings is also getting a change. The Fated Engram and the Exotic Engram is being collapsed into a single item. When opened it will still contain an exotic that players do not have, unless they have collected all the exotic, at which point, the engram will drop a random piece of exotic armor that is specific to the class on which it is opened.

It was confirmed yesterday that the level cap is going up in Season of Dawn, but it was not revealed by how much. But in this new update in talking about rewards, it was revealed what that cap is. And it's not much when compared to Season of Dawn. The new level cap of powerful rewards is going up 10 levels to 960, which is the current level cap for pinnacle rewards in the game. And that means that the level cap for pinnacle rewards is going up to 970, also up by just 10 levels. Of course, players will be able to use the new seasonal artifact to gain its power bonus and level indefinitely.

There has also been some changes made to bounties in the game, with the Gunsmith receiving additional bounties, which have been available this season from Eris Morn, the Lectern of Enchantment, Zavala, Shaxx, and Ikora Rey. Players will be able to get an endless supply of Gunsmith bounties if they so choose with these new repeatable bounties. The Gunsmith's weekly bounty that required players to use weapons in strikes, the Crucible, and Gambit is being changed, with any three of those activities granting progress instead of requiring players to do all three. Because of this the bounty will no longer reward Valor and Infamy points or Vanguard tokens.

Crucible bounties are also getting a slight tweak, with one new mode-specific daily bounties being added. It looks like Crucible bounties are going to get a bit easier as well with some of the Crucible bounty requirements being reduced and the harder-to-complete melee and grenade bounties being removed from the additional bounties pool.

A nice quality of life change, the Glimmer cost of slotting weapon mods is being drastically reduced from 5,000 Glimmer to 500 Glimmer. An issue causing Ada-1 to give duplicate mods has also been fixed in Season of Dawn. And, lastly, for players who have been trying to get the Escalation Protocol armor sets now that they drop as Armor 2.0 versions, starting with Season of Dawn, the chest at the end of wave 7 no longer requires a key to open. The chest can opened on every successful completion of wave 7 and each time it is opened, it will grant a new piece of armor until that character has the full set. After that, a random piece of armor will drop when opening the chest.

All these changes look to be very positive and player-friendly. And they will be in the game soon. Season of Dawn starts on December 10, 2019.
