For this week’s Nightfall Strike rewards, Destiny 2 players have a chance to obtain a roll of the reprised Plug One.1 Fusion Rifle. This Precision Frame Fusion Rifle has great stats and an excellent perk pool which makes it extremely powerful in lots of activities, but especially anything PvE.

In Season of the Splicer, three more classic Destiny 1 weapons were reintroduced to Destiny 2 as Nightfall rewards. During this season, players will also be able to get other classics, including the Palindrome Hand Cannon, Hung Jury Scout Rifle, and Uzume RR4 Sniper Rifle.

Plug One is an Arc-damage, Precision Frame Fusion Rifle, which means it has a slower charge time but has high damage and range, and controllable vertical recoil. With Grandmaster Nightfalls now available in Season of the Splicer, Destiny 2 players can also get the Adept version of Plug One, which has a slot for stat-boosting Adept Weapon Mods.

Its perks are mainly top-tier PvE options, making this Fusion Rifle great for Nightfall Strikes and seasonal activities such as Override. Given its strengths as a close-to-medium range weapon, it pairs well with longer-range primary kinetic weapons such as Pulse Rifles and Scout Rifles. Cold Denial, The Messenger, Dead Man’s Tale, and Hung Jury are great pairings for Plug One.

How to Get Plug One.1:

Plug One is a Nightfall Weapon which means it only has a chance to drop as a Nightfall completion reward. It is obtainable on all Nightfall Strike difficulties, although higher difficulty Nightfalls have significantly higher chances to have weapons drop. Adept Nightfalls are very easy but Nightfall Weapons are rare, while Master Nightfalls are much harder, but Nightfall Weapons are common.

To have a chance of getting the Adept weapon variant, Destiny 2 players must complete a Grandmaster Nightfall Strike. Players also have better odds of getting Enhancement Prisms, Ascendant Shards, and Exotic Gear at higher difficulties and for defeating all Champions to get a Platinum rating.

Plug One.1 Perk Recommendations:

Plug One’s strengths are its high Impact and Range, and controllable recoil. The weapon handles pretty slowly with a slower Charge Time and longer reload time to balance this out. Many of the perks available can improve some of these weaker stats or bolster the already high ones, although some perks are definitely a lot more useful than others.

Arrowhead Brake is a useful barrel perk for further controlling Plug One’s recoil and boosting its Handling. Alternatively, Extended Barrel will slightly improve the recoil and Range but at the cost of a reduction to Handling. The best improvement to Plug One’s Handling will come from Fluted Barrel. Smallbore and Corkscrew Rifling are not top-tier barrel options, but they offer several small improvements to Range and Stability, and Range, Stability, and Handling, respectively.

As for battery perks, Liquid Coils and Accelerated Coils are the best options and improve the same stats in opposite ways. Liquid Coils will improve a Fusion Rifle’s Impact at the cost of a longer Charge Time, while Accelerated Coils will reduce its Impact in exchange for a shorter Charge Time. Slower charge times are rarely an issue in PvE unless players use a Fusion Rifle for boss damage so Liquid Coils is the better option for PvE.

In perk slot one, Destiny 2 players could get the Nightfall Weapon-exclusive perk Bottomless Grief, which increases a weapon’s magazine capacity and refills the magazine on final blows when a player is the last living member of their fireteam. Feeding Frenzy will mitigate the slow reload issues, and Heating Up and Under Pressure will make Plug One extremely accurate.

For perk slot two, Reservoir Burst is the ultimate PvE perk for Fusion Rifles as it creates massive explosions from defeated enemies which deal even more damage after the initial shot. For Plug One, Reservoir Burst and Feeding Frenzy synergize extremely well, turning Plug One into a slower but more damaging Null Composure. Kickstart improves a Fusion Rifle’s damage and charge time during a slide, which could be useful for aggressive Crucible plays and dealing with tankier major and boss enemies in PvE.
