Bungie has changed Destiny 2 a lot since it launched, remedying many of the issues players have had with the game, but it's still far from perfect. After the Halo Infinite battle pass was revealed at E3 2021, players are seeing yet another way the game could improve and they've become a tad jealous. Through social media, they're being very vocal with their opinions on the subject.

In a post on Reddit, user u/ConwayJey laid out the perks of the Halo Infinite battle pass and how it measures up to Destiny 2. They make compelling arguments for Bungie to considering altering how seasons work. The post has gained traction on the forum, with many commenters agreeing that this would be a positive change for Destiny 2.

Each new expansion in Destiny 2 is broken into seasons, where players can earn rewards as they gain experience. They can opt to pay for each individual season or get them all if they purchase the deluxe edition of the expansion. The problem is that when a season ends, the rewards go with them, and there's no way to earn them afterward. Regardless of whether a player has paid for the season or not, once it is over, the rewards are gone if they haven't been claimed.

Halo Infinite's battle pass works much differently and offers a lot more choices, essentially eliminating those feelings of FOMO that Destiny 2 players are familiar with. Each new season, battle passes are available permanently once released, and once purchased, players can progress through them indefinitely. Additionally, players have the option to purchase older battle passes to work through previous content if they so wish.

Bungie has made a habit of making things feel too exclusive. The new armor transmog system is held back by the amount of synthweave a player can earn, which is limited unless they buy it from Eververse. Certain strikes and raids have been removed from the game with new expansions, leaving players with less content. One of the most frustrating instances of exclusivity is during the Solstice of Heroes event, which has glowing armor pieces that are unavailable once the event is over, and past armor sets from this event are not made available again.

Thankfully, Bungie has made some strides to remedy these issues. With Beyond Light, Destiny 2 removed sunsetting, which took away the power-level cap from weapons. This drastically opened up the pool of available weapons for players to choose from. However, every time the developer changes something for the better, it tends to implement another system that puts more limitations on players. Making Destiny 2 seasons more like the Halo Infinite battle pass would be a step in the right direction, providing additional content and allowing players to simply do more with their time.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
